Has anyone installed a sportbike silencer on the Nytro? If so, which ones work well?
I would like to shed weight and add power without adding noise.

Motorcycle mufflers were the very first mod many Nytro owners did back in 2008 model year. Before exhaust mfg. started offering products designed specific for the Nytro.

I doubt you will gain much just by replacing the silencer. Go with new headers if you want more hp. Or save your money for a turbo.

Expect a few hp, a massive weight reduction and (in most cases) a better build quality than the sled specific stuff.
However, your noise level will be nowhere near stock.

How about a stock R1 silencer? Should be lighter and quiet. Power is another question.

I customized a raptor gyt-r pipe to fit...I like my toys loud but my friend, this was ignorant!I would go with ultra q or something...cheap and no worries about melting plastic etc.

I ran bike silencers on my first few prototype models over the last two seasons, and not one held up very well.
I trashed 2 Micron cans, and 2 Two Bros, 2 D&D's and 2 Yosh cans.
They just don't hold up to the harsh environment of high rpm heat and snow being thrown on them. The snow then melts away from the muffler, re-freezes under the tunnel and encases the whole exhaust area in ice. Then they actually overheat and burn out.
I did all teh testing, and have designed a totally new system that aleviates all the factory issues, and is now in production. I have a few pre-orders already, check it out..

I've had a LeoVince Ti. exhaust(for 1000 GSXR) on since '09 and it's held up extremely well. The quality is outstanding and I gained quite a few RPM's after the installation. I do like your exhaust system alot, but not all the bike slip-ons are junk.
My Hindle looked like new with a quick wet sand and polish!

I didn't say anything about ALL slip ons being junk? I didn't even say any were junk? I said they didn't hold up well, and noted the ones I used? Don't read into things to start controversy, I hope everybody who tries these realizes that a bike canister is made for a bike.
I had other cans at my disposal to use, I chose not to because I was developing a marketable kit. It was not cost effective to use my titanium Ackropovic cans, even though I knew they'd last the best out of what I had. For anyone who is capable of building their own? Different story maybe.
I tried to develop a full kit to get rid of ice and snow buildup, add a tunnel protector, look and sound appealing to most, get rid of the factory donuts, flex couplers, add power and likely last the life of the sled. To try to entertain those goals and sell for a grand or less in a mass production market isn't
easy.
Bike cans will work, yes. A few will, and those do usually cost more. Heat and sustained high rev's need to be considered. Bikes don't usually run @ 9000+/- as much as sleds do, then have too cool off very fast like a sled muffler...
Thread asks who has used them. I've probably tried more than most... That's why I had mufflers specially made with no seams of 321 stainless with carbon packing and the cores we do.
Bottom line, just be careful what cans are used!

I think the environmental effect in a streetbike / roadrace bike is not very different, especially not when you consider the maximum temperatures that are reached for quite some time during warm weather roadraces.
I used an Akrapovic carbon silencer (with titanium mid pipe) in my -09 RTX SE for more than 4500 kilometers, without any durability problems at all. Slightly lower noise level, much less weight and better build quality than all of the snowmobile specific exhausts I have tried, heard or seen.
One of the key points is to make sure that the mounting does not build stress into the silencer or any other part of the exhaust system. Another key point is to choose only quality brand silencer components. Based on my own roadrace experience, this "list" would include only Akrapovic, Arrow, Leo Vince, the japanese bulit Yoshimuras (Suzuki stuff only) and maybe some of the factory stuff from french manufacturer Devil and italian Termignoni.
My -11 MTX SE will get a titanium silencer from Leo Vince, thanks to their massive support and interest in designing exhausts for special projects. I will post pictures within soon.

Photos of typical streetbike / roadrace silencer at the end of this thread:

In this case a purpose built Leo Vince unit (the silencer from their CBR1000RR factory full system with slightly different inlet and outlet).
