So after seeing a number of posts about sucking in and blowing out mice , nests and their food ,
I have cut up "steel" 3/8" square screening that fit under the foam in the air box and installed
chair leg rubbers in the tail pipe.
Drilled holes in the rubbers and attached a cord between them and another from them up to the handle bars .
Reason being I don't want to start it with them installed :)
The wire screen is held in place under the foam and lid snapped on just as easy (or hard) as before..
May devise a screen to fit into the bottom draw cavity so mice can't nest in that gap.
..
I looked up "summer storage" and never seen so many opinions. Recall reading an acritical in a sled mag
back when they were talking 15% eth and super around me all has 10% .. Only 4 companies and they all had diff ideas
at the time .. Yamaha corp suggested go out and buy highest octane you could find , treat it with
stabilizer and fill the tank with that "new" fuel. AND remove that fuel in the fall and burn it in something else
and fill her up again with fresh.

well, besides the stabilizer, members of my family have been storing snowmobiles the same way since early 70's. fill them full of gas (with seafoam now) and oil and start them every 30-45 days and run them up to full operating temp. we do spin the tracks to splash fresher oil up onto the bearings and gears in the chain cases.

i have modified this a bit in that they are stored in an enclosed trailer with a dehumidifier running and trickle chargers on each sled with e start. still start them every month or so and i cycle through them doing the pre season maintenece on them all so come riding time, i just top them off with fresh high octane gas and run the 1st tank through with almost no wot to burn out the last of the old gas. i use the gas that is oldest in the lawn mowers/wood splitter over the summer and freshen it up with new high test. acts as my strategic reserve for power interuptions for generator gas.

saw this in Lounge ... and I thought AI was silly . Just frightening !
Thanks pdiddy for asking AI for a mouse proof cover.

Considering using a mouse / squirrel proof device. Surrounded
several different cars in storage with the 36" steel wall from
old swimming pools on a flat , solid surface.
They can't crawl up it and to high for squirrel to jump it seems.
Set a trap inside just incase one was already inside the wall.
