i was reading the manual from mpi for my turbo kit. They say I should run a 50/50 mix for fuel. But I can only get 92 on the trial. Does anyone have any experience just running 92?

How much boost were they talking about? with just the standard kit you can run 91.

I have no idea why they would say 50/50... Everyone runs 91 with that kit.

Ya It says at sea level run 50/50. But I know that won't be happening on the trail.

I run 91 or 93 non-ethanhol and push mine to 7.5# boost at times. Just make sure you run good AFR #'s and if you suspect questionable fuel don't do any long wide open runs. Good gauges are a must for any turbo. JMO

MPI recommends 92 for the stock trail turbo kit at any elevation. We run 92 or 93 depending on what we can get. If your someplace that only has 89 or 91 that will work to get you to the next gas station but MPI recommends not doing long WOT runs, Just take it easy and you will be fine or add some octane boost.
Well if your running the trail turbo at 6#'s or under not the stage 1 you should just fine at 92 pump gas. Anything over 6#'s with the 3 stock injectors and fuel pump is asking for trouble. At 7 or above it is not always an octane issue its fuel supply. With the stock timing and no head shim anything over 6 would require a bit higher octane to slow the burn rate. I always carry either a bottle of octane booster or I have 3 34 oz bottles of 110 race gas to blend if the only thing available is 87 like in the upper UP. 1 bottle can raise 10 gallons 5 to 7 octane points.
My 15 is now being setup with 6# and 10#'s on the switch but at 10 I will have to run 100% race gas (with upgraded fuel pump & 4th injector) and at 6 I can run all day at 92 pump gas.

No. Injectors are running @ 92% when at WOT and fuel pressure is good. It's all monitored all the time with gauges.Shag have you added the fuel pump upgrade or larger injectors to go to 7.5#'s?
