There was metal transfer on the plug. Rep will be at the shop on Monday whether they take it apart or not I don't know. Said it may have to go to Toronto to be opened up.
When I fired it up after adding oil the gems was flashing one light. I thought it used to flash 3 lights on a cold start up?

Metal transfer on plug almost always means detonation. Gotta fix whatever caused that or have happen again.

No idea. Have to get a afr gauge and looking into stutter boxes. I don't think I should have to. It shouldn't be this complicated.

when you turned up the boost i assume you adjusted your gems, but without an AFR gauge how do you know where you where at?

It's mpi. Dealer set it up he didn't have time to run it in. He said it should be at 6 psi. Dropped it off due to sled not wanting oil in it. He worked on it and changed the separator valve took it for the final run home 50-60 miles later. Kaboom

No oil equals bearings, crank and rods. Metal on plug equals lean cylinder. Most of the time.
Sounds like cheap gas caused this one? Just my opinion.

Always got gas at the same 2 places the last place I got gas before it blew up was at a gas station that 2 of his sons have the same sled and set up as mine and they fill up there all the time.
I keep hearing horror story's of Yamaha not warranty them But everyone I ride with at work rides skidoo so the dealer said he would sell me a doo cheap cause he feels sorry for me not having a sled.
When it blew I was going around the outside of a 2015 xrs, must have sucked in some 2 stroke smoke.

lol. If it means the dealer can take the motor apart and it not having to be pulled and sent to toronto if it blows up. I dont really care at this point I just want to ride. I loved my 600rs I went to the nytro because of the long trips first sled to ever blow up on me since the 69 Sno-jet 292 back in the early 80s 8000km and 9000kms on both my last doos I bought brand new. 4000kms+ on the nytro I sold the day I bought the viper. Should not have sold that so soon.

Yeah the separator valve thing bothers me, that and how did he know it was set for 6 pounds without a gauge? Any time you run a brand new engine without oil or less than designed oil the damage is severe and happens quick. Did you ever see the oil light come on?
