i am going to be installing a mpi turbo kit on my viper. I have the 5 year YES warranty. Sled has currently 450miles on it. I will be installing my self. I'm currently looking for opinions on what parts I all need to have to make it an awesome sled. Obviously I know I need the mpi turbo kit. But what else are the must dos with this setup and still not void the warranty. I ride in the U.P. And would say I'm 50/50 trail and off trail. Thanks for any input. Jake

You'll need a clutch kit. I'd suggest gauges like Innovate or AEM (boost and afr). That will allow you to tweak your GEMS controller. I'd switch to the 8DN belt and get the OSP deflection adjuster. (They make a nice gauge mount too) Perhaps get your clutches machined for overdrive. Some change out the gears, but if you're 50% off trail you may want to keep it geared in the lower side. Enjoy the turbo. It really wakes up the sled.

I did Ulmer's which is the same one MPI sells. Lots of adjustability. Performs well.

I have a 16 ltx le with trail kit.
Ulmer clutch kit and taller gearing. Works real well. It's pretty hard on fuel but that's what I expected.
I'll be running the 8dn with osp adjuster this year.

Jake , As said above the extra things you need will be clutch kit and gauges. I have the same sled in a 2015 and its a lot of fun off trail with a turbo, your going to enjoy it
. I run the 8DN belt with Ulmer clutch kit but had switched back to the OEM secondary spring set to 6-2 to get my top end back. Even with soft start primary spring my RPM engagement is still to high for my liking with this kit for off trail riding. If I was to do it again I would go with the Big Venom kit from Thunder Products. We installed both ours in a weekend its not hard, take your time and follow the directions for each step. Also you will find MPI is very easy to call and talk with if you have any questions. We have 2 seasons on our MPI's with zero issues other then I had a heat shield come loose on my muffler. MPI replaced the muffler at no charge and was quick about it. I would recommend installing your air cleaner outside the hood if your playing in the powder.
Here's a few things that others have posted on TY that they had issues with:
Can't get the hood to fit right. This is becasue the back side of the hood was not trimmed all the way and is sitting on the air intake or the hoses on the air/oil separator are trimmed to long holding the hood up. Check clearance between the top front corner of the quite muffler and the side panel plastic. If its touching your going to wear a hole in the plastic. Also check with MPI to make sure your kit has the updated EABC flash(very important becasue some were flashed with 9 pound of boost yeast year). Before you tighten the coolant hoses make sure you have the thermostat housing in a safe location so the wires/plug on the side will not be damaged, Its very adjustable so move it around so the wires are not pushed up against the chassis.
Here is a video of our install its not informative but a fun watch.

I think I saw a NIB turbo kit on the classifieds for 2k asking.
Might be worth throwing the guy an offer.
