By the way!
Could you tell me if it is easy to do the preparation of the Nytro MTX ?
I'm wondering if I should do it myself!
TIA

Stock clutching (8,000 - 10,000 ft)
8FS-00 weights (no rivets)
G-W-G primary spring
16.5 roller
39 helix
Pink secondary spring @ 70
20/40 gearing w/68l chain
0 - 2500 ft
8FS-00 w/ 17.2 steel outer and center, 13.3 steel w/ hole inner
Blue-Brown-Blue spring
16.5 rollers
39 helix
Pink spring @ 70
22/40 gearing w/ 70 link chain
Clutching and gearing for your primary riding elevation is covered under warranty as a 90 code. You should not have to pay for it if your sled needs clutching and gearing changes for your elevation.
Set up is much easier and faster than Apex or Phazer.

How can I confirm that the clutch/gearing changes is covered under warranty. If I remember correctly, I paid to have it done to my Phazer last year and was under the impression that I would be paying for it again this year with the Nytro.

when i spring checked my dealer said that the clutch parts are covered, but not the chain and gear(im in canada)..now im used to running doo's the last 10 years and had to really gear down to keep clutchs cool usually a 2.2-2.3 ratio..are the yammies clutching that more efficient?as the sea level gearing is 22/40 and the 7 tooth extros are inbetween a 8 and 9 tooth driver thus 5% added effect for gearing..so 22/40 with 5% is a 1.91 ratio...and the 20/40 with 5% factor is 2.1....1.91 seems tall for sea level powder running?any opinions on this from you guys running sea level powder with a 4 stroke longtrack?i like the sounds of the 2.1 ratio..dont want to be burning up belts

I confrimed with my dealer today that all the patrs are covered under the warranty 90 spec. But... no labor. Thats all right with me. I'll do the low elevation changes myself, and buy back the clutch spring and and extra set of weights and use them if I go to the Mnt's this year.

keep your mountain stuff, and buy the low alt stuff. (way cheaper). they make a ton more shortys with low alt specs. so the mountain stuff is more expensive. then you'll have both set ups. my two cents. ski

Hey Ski...just to update you... I kept my Hi-Elv primary spring so I'll have it to go to the mountains later this season, the dealer only charged me $19.00 to keep it. I'm also going to buy a back up set of weights for it. Just going to let the Hi-Ele guys find out what works best for them first.skidooboy said:anyone upgrading weights? looking for 2 sets of stock mtx weights. let me know how much. ski

what i want to do is get another set of weights for each sled, one empty for hi elevation, and one set up loaded for 0-2500'.
you really only have to buy the spring, the chain and one gear. then you have both set ups.
having two sets will save on drilling and pounding and possibly hurting the weights down the road. not to mention the convenience.

I just got the biggest sticker shock of my life....
Went in to pick-up some weights, rivets and primary spring for my MTX so I can ride around MN once in awhile....when we get snow!!
Anyway, dealer quoted me $123.00 for each weight (not including rivets or spring)!!! Needless to say, I told him to keep them.
When I got back to work, I called a couple other dealers. I was informed that the dealers are at a meeting with Yamaha getting updates, books, and general information. Both dealers thought that price was incorrect and that I should call back on Monday.
I guess we'll see on Monday if that pricing is right! If so, I'll be looking for after market!
