- 2010 Nytro MTX converted to XTX
Hey,
I tried the search function but couldn't find an answer. Has anyone converted a MTX to a XTX. I have a 2010 Nytro Turbo MTX 162" with the Mtn Tamer skid. I bought it was it was a good deal on a turbo even though we mostly ride groomed trails here. I am looking to convert it to an XTX and wonder if it's been done?
I noticed the MTX tunnel has the holes for the XTX skid already in it so- I am thinking 144" skid, new front inside mounting plates, new rear mounting plates, tunnel cap, drivers, xtx gearing. Should be it? I just want to make sure I am not missing anything or if anyone knows if I will run into any huge complications.

Im sure someone has done it, but have you thought of just cutting the track down to say 1 inch or 1.5 and add cable scratchers?

I thought of that but it has a mtn tamer skid which I broke on the weekend while playing so I would prefer to switch to a more rugged skid for my style of riding.
Just buy different suspension rails from ice age performance. I have done this with my old pro Rmk went from a 163” to a 146”

I wanted to switch out my suspension while I was at it where the mtn tamer skid didn't hold up so I bought a AC 141" skid and started the MTX to XTX to AC 141" swap. I will post pictures as I go along for anyone who may run into this down the road... although most people are onto the newer chassis now.

Progress has been coming along. I had to take off the MTX front and rear skid mounting brackets and the rear tunnel cap. I got XTX brackets and cap installed now. While at it I went with the 141" AC skid instead of the 144" XTX skid. The MTX tunnel already had the holes for the XTX skid to the front plate was an easy bolt on. The rear I had to do some careful measuring off the XTX rear mount hole to get the 141" skid in the right location. It was about 2 1/4" back
I had to switch out the MTX 3.0 pitch drivers to a set of extrovert 2.52" drivers for the 144" 1.75 track I have for it.
While at it I decided to do a custom undertunnel exhaust off the turbo and a block off plate. I had a custom bike shop make up the pipe and it turned out wicked given the small space they had to work with.
Pictures attached.
