I just purchased an 05 RX1-ER with a badly damaged front heat exchanger. Has anyone replaced one? Can I replace it from the bottom
of the sled by removing the suspension, track, chaincase, etc...
Has anyone purchased a service manual and can tell me if it's worth the $60.00 price?

It sounds like you should wait for snow next time befor you go riding!

Anyway You should be able to strip the bottom end by removing track, chain case, ect. You will then be able to access the heat exchanger and possibly add some direct metal deposition to fix the leak

Thank you for saving me $60.00!

I have a front exchanger from an 03 RX in real good shape, retail $270ish you can have it for $125 plus shippping.

SX,

Thank's for the offer, but I have already purchased it.

Do you know If I can replace it from the bottom ?

I don't know about the RX but past sleds I've done I had to remove the motor. :? The last one I did was on an SX/R and I swear it had a million rivets in it. I hope these are easier for your sake, good luck. ;)!
