Ok guy's, I am going riding with a guy who has some kind of a Polaris 800 twin from 03, is this thier snocross sled ? and is it very fast ?
I have never ran a 800 twin from Poo before and was just wondering if I should be concerned ? My sled is clutched, studded- 144, full race exhaust, filters, holtzman springs, and run's very very strong. I am thinking that I should not have any problems with him because I can walk away from my 2 friends Ski-doo 800 rev's, that have some work done to them. What are your guy's thought's ?

Say BYE BYE!! The longer you can run the better!
Pick and nice hard hard packed snow to race on it will help you more than him!!

No problem! I ran with 2 guys that had 800 Poo's, I have an 04 Warrior with little tweaking (Not as much as you) and I came out on top!

WHO SAID THESE 4-STROKES ARE PIGS? :die :4STroke:

Eat My Snow Dust :tg:

Plus once you get passed him your exhaust should make his ears bleed and he will have to stop and check his ears! LOL

I raced an 800 Polaris with my 04 Warrior and beat him every time.I would jump ahead 1 sled length and would increase my lead to at least 4 to 5 sled lengths and hold it for ever.I'm stock with NO studs and the same with him.

Well guy's, I am very pleased to announce that the 800 poo was not even a race. In his defense though, we ran from about a 10 mile an hour roll and by the time we shut them down, about 100mph, he was a good 8 or 9 sled length's behind me. I think if we ran from a stand still it might have been a little bit closer, but i pulled away from him way to easy.
I rode out of Houghton Lake on Saturday and headed north up through Starvation lk to the Jordan Valley area and then all the way up to East Jordan. The trails were great and not a lot of people on them. We started out at 11 am and were back home drinking beer and eating pizza at 8:30 pm and this is after 230 miles.

Good times were had by all.................. :drink:

Now if I could just get Cubby up there for a little fun at the Limberlost.. ;)!

I hate to admit it by my buddies jetted studded 800 XC Poo was pretty much a side by side race to about 100 I have an ECP kit with Evac Overdrive clutch and studs. before he jetted it better I could take him it was very fat but now he is right by my side till upper end that was from a rolling start I think I need to change the gearing down a tooth for my sled. I weigh about 260 he ways about 210 so there is a weight difference My other buddies Mach Z and I are pretty close to about 60 or so then he starts to pull away he is basically stock except I guess SkiDoo did a few mods like remapping and fill in the decompression levers etc

To make any race fair you have to account for rider weight. I am 240 lbs if I race a guy who is 165 or even 190 lbs he is 50 lbs lighter. It takes so much work to move 50lbs from point a to point b. If you are going to be racing I would have a light rider ready to take the helm or have someone who is just as heavy as you on the other machine.

This friend of mine and I are the same weight, he is studded and thats it. He has like 190 studs to my 144 and he really did not want to line them up, but I kind of egged him on enough that he finally hit it as soon as we crossed a road to keep going down this road that we were riding. I would say we could not have hammered it any closer together and we both got a great start, but I started to pull him right from the get go. When we hit about 80 I looked over my shoulder and he was about 6 to 7 sleds back, so I just tapped it to 100mph and got out of it. When we were sitting in the garage that night, he came right out and said, that thing flat out gets on with it.

;)!
