and it's only about 118ish hp....
Yep the XP with the 600 e tech has got a better power to weight ratio. The 800 even more so. They are so damn light. Maybe too light from reports a lot of guys give about high speed stability. In any case, all things being equal (traction most importantly) the sled with better Power to weight is almost always going to be faster overall. Sure you can play with gearing and such, but it's just physics. OTOH, I get back on Doos now and I hate them in the bumps and don't even love them in the corners. Too loose.

If you are having a hard time off the line witha 600 e-tec i would look into problems with your sled. I ride witha skidoo super tuner that used to grass drag and run with the big guys in the late nineties and i absolutely smoked his e-tec off the line. Top end he would catch me and i dont know crap about clutching.
Not having a hard time, it's just there we're about even. I wish it wasn't so, but that's my experience. As I said, I've still got the stock track which isn't the best for holeshot and I've got 144 studs which doesn't help me up top. It doesn't bother me a lot though because we only goof around like that for fun. When we are riding, he spends a lot of time behind me as he will attest to in his constant complaints about the snow flap being too high and the roost hitting him. Plus, I lost count of the times I've passed him on rutted up trails. That's where I think the Nytro really shows its stuff - I don't even have to come off the throttle.

Dam this is a awful lot of bench racing.
I think we just need some dam snow to settle things.
Oh and your gonna need some rope to tow that Doo home someday!

A doo can't pass you when he has a towrop hooked to the front the only thing he can do is follow! They should sell a tow rope attachment as accessory on front like a quad sells a winch!

Hope he doesn't blow a belt! I was talking to the parts manager last night at the Ski Doo shop, $ 169.00 for a belt!!! What's the market price this year for that good injector oil?

I was thinking the same thing.
I did an oil change and filter for around $40 while that fully synthetic 2-smoke oil can be $50 a jug.
Plus you can find 8DN belts at decent price like $60-$70.

I bought 12 belts last year from a dealer so he wouldn't have to store them $45.00 each

When my buddy bought his 08 800R he blew 4 belts...finally figured something wasn't right so he took it to the dealer....clutches were not aligned...they were out 4mm or something like that....aligned them and no more issues...well, except for the mystery coolan leaks

Mark up on the new Doo 391 belts are ridiculous. Through a friend I get them for $125 each. Which is incredibly sad that I consider that a deal for a belt! I haven't had any problems blowing belts tho. Cords pulled a little on the factory belt at 1200 miles.
Doo oil burns my eye balls, so I run Amsoil. $32 per gallon.
There is also a "update" or something. So all 2010.5/2011 800 etec's get New pistons/rings and a crank inspection at 3150 miles. Although I'm running mine til the end of the season, or til she blows...whichever comes first.
