I had a decent ride in the Mountain areas west of Marquette on April 10. There is still two feet or more of snow up there, and tho the specific trails are closed, the two tracks and lumber roads are still accessable. I believe that for two more weeks there will be some decent riding up there.
Watch out for the ponding tho. One almost got me, hidden under the snow/ice and then with a bit of snow on top. I found myself breaking thru and getting my feet wet. First time I learned about my "throttle being my friend" in such situations.
Still, like closing down the ole hunting cabin, I left with heavy heart. It is a damned long time to the next ride. Ah, but I can always go out and hit the key and listen to my babies run...screw the consequences. Life is short.
