In the manual it says to check valve clearance every 40,000 kms (25,000 miles) so you might be able to take that one off the list.

manual is off from what I am told due to application.... This engine in a R1 runs differently in that you can be riding at 1k on the tach cruising in 2nd gear and you can control the revs, were as our sleds are always reving way higher even at 30mph.
I had severe cold start issues, which led me to a leak down test. Dealers top motor guy said that he does valve jobs all the time, some guys dont even know they are off until it gets bad. He has even done 08 vectors and apexs just depends on deposits in the engine etc... When I picked it up he said it was better than when it was in the crate, dialed in mint. He was right my warrior runs like a motha now, better than my apex honestly. Now that its fixed I know this issue slowly crept up on me starting at around 8k miles is when it just wasnt right even after repeated ring free applications. Now I know why..
Pay attention boys to how she starts and the amount of carbon build up..

Got out for some riding in the tug hill area of new york. Absolutely mind blown by how great this sled is. Thank you all for your help. I couldn't be happier. Best purchase I've made.
Today, I went out with the wife on the back on the jack seat. I was unable to adjust the FRA, though. I loosened the nut as directed in the manual but could not get it to move when turning the other side. It seems like maybe the little teeth are stripped.... Any suggestions on how to get it into the hard position? I was bottoming out a bit when riding real hard solo. Bottomed out riding anything faster than slow with the wife on the back. I think the stock spring may be shot and i'll probably be looking for a big boy spring soon. but i would like to be able to adjust the fra.
thanks!

18,000 miles on my RX still top ends just as well as it did with 2,000 miles on it and pulls hard at any speed. Starts in -40 temps and has not yet had the valves clearance done. I don't see the point. Yami says 25,000 miles for the valves and I believe them.
Dirty engine deposits is a whole nuther issue.
