just a couple more! I am trying to bolt on this two bros exhaust from a zx6 and it almost bolts right up! I was afraid that it would be way to loud so i ordered a sound suppresor which is supposed to reduce noise by 6 to 8 dbs. I guess i will find out soon enough

Just remember that when you ad a noise reducer you will richen up things up...you may need to lean out your mixture a bit.

shad; thanks i will have to keep an eye on that

No probs bro, just something we noticed on my sled...not sure if it will change anything on a boosted sled, but it did on my NA buggy..ya I'd keep an eye on it....sled looks killer! Hopefully you'll bring it up to Lake Scugog for some early season drag racing/radaring?

finished sled pics

The exhaust ended up going on pretty easily but is pretty loud even with the sound reducer so I may go to another brand this year

You need to go with a longer muffler...that one looks pretty short, I'm guessing 12-14"? You can make a 16" somehwat quiet with a noise reducer but if you want it really quiet you need to run an 18-20". I tested the 20" with a different core and a noise reducer...very quiet and hardly noticable except at WOT and even then it's a really nice tone.

nytro exhaust

Thanks for the advice Shadow that makes alot of sense but i guess that would make the connector pipe to the header very short? It would probably make for very little fabrication. Yeah my can is maybe 14 inches or so but i have been looking on ebay for something more suitable.

I ran a stock r1 pipe on my apex last year and it sounded just like a r1.It sounded sweet bu was slightly louder then stock maybe a decibal or 2.

The biggest you are going to fit in there off the stock header is a 16"....unless you don't care how far it sticks out of the back of your sled...We tried many different muffler at Hindles shop....you may get an 18" but it will stick out over the tail light...IMO, bite the bullet and go for a full Hindle system and go with the 20" setup...Dave Marshall at HURRICANE Performance can look after you wit a system and tuning it. You get several benefits...huge weight reduction, no more donuts/flex pipes, very trail friendly sound and 10+HP. ;)!

yeah is hould have went with the hindle to begin with just because it is a simpler set up. as it is i had a full hauck system and just changed the muffler for a more custom look and sound. i actually had a hole in the header and had to have it welded. Anyways i may go with the hindle for the quiet sound not so much for the hp as mpi tells me the exhaust has no effect on horsepower with their sc. they claim that they have tested with a straight pipe and full system with no difference seems hard to believe but thanks again for the advice

No probs, If you are ever near Port Perry, let me know, you can have a look at my setup...completely hidden behind the stock plastics..unless you look under the tunnel you'd never know it's there.
