My turbo nytro exhaust

Well here is what I came up with for an exhaust for my mid mount turbo. I went to a custom exhaust shop and had this built. I used a flex tube on the turbo end and ran a tail pipe all the way out and had it turned out just before the snow flap. The flex tube is used on cars with turbos to reduce any vibration and cracking of the exhaust manifold. I have heard of some good ideas from some of you guys but I decided to go this route because of my air/fuel gauge.

I have a ngk air/fuel gauge and the sensor has to be a certain distance from the turbo and a certain distance from the outlet. So I had to run it all the way out the back, it only weighs 7.6 pounds. I will post some pics of it after I get it installed.

Nice, I always like looking at custom/self engineered add ons. No Muff eh, any idea on the sound level. I see your out in Montana so likely no worries, just curious. I like the exit location, different than anything else and alows use of the tunnel. The main negative of the rear exhaust in my mind.

I would definitely like to hear a sound clip of that. It looks as quiet as a nitro funny car!! :die

I wish I knew how to put a sounds clip in hear, It isnt as loud as a two stroke would be with an mbrp can on it. My buddy has a mountain max with an mbrp can on it and it seams to be alot louder.

griz, got a photobucket account? if not shoot me some video, and I will post it...or PM me and I can walk you through posting it

Watch the flex joint on these turbo sleds, they seem to get hot and fail at times. Im not saying yours will but have seen others. Other than that, nice job! I was thinking of doing that with a under tunnel exhaust except cutting a hole in the side of the tunnel and routing it out the side of the tunnel, would look trick.

If you can, post a sound clip!! That's very cool about the turbo acting like a muffler. I didn't know that. Looks really awesome, though!!! ;)! ;)!
