I say any year Vector LTX that has EFI & power steering. The power steering is unbelievable, this is the first year I've had it. Last weekend my 2 year old grandson fell asleep on a ride in the woods and I had to steer 1 handed for about 8 miles including all the turns - just try doing that without PS.
Get her to a dealer and have her sit on the sleds (test drive if available) and let her choose - then she can't blame you if she doesn't like it.

Man and I really liked my Apex. Wish you wouldn't have told me it wasn't a off trail sled. I've been riding it wrong. LOLAgreed, Apex and Vector belong on the trail not deep snow............

Skip the Nytro.
I would go with a Renegade Ace 900. As far as I know the Doo 4 strokes are holding up well. If you can't stomach another Doo get the Viper.

Why not a Venture GT with EPS, my girlfriend has one and it is one really good sled, when it is tight and twisty I really have to work to keep up with my Nytro. If you don't want the two-up choose the Vector LTX, I think it is basically the same sled.
Try them before you buy anything, I bet she will not be disappointed.

I wouldn't recommend a nytro for her but I think a viper would be great. I've had both and for a smaller rider I'd say the nytro would be a little too tough to muscle around. Viper is such a beautiful and great handling sled, I'd go for that.

If she doesn't like the tippy feeling, the Nytro is NOT for her either. It takes a lot of rider input and can get tippy in a hurry if not an experienced. Plus with the power and her being a small girl she can get into trouble quickly. If you want to stick with a Yamaha, go Vector as that is a comfortable trial machine. The Nytro is an awesome machine but doesn't sound like it will fit your application at all.
BTW, nice choice in Bikes you have!

Guys and gals...read what the OP takes their sleds on: "We primarily ride roads and the open meadows in the high country. Very seldom does she get into anything technical."
If it wasn't for the OPEN MEADOWS and HIGH COUNTRY I'd say get a Vector as well. Also, they want RELIABLE too....you think a Viper falls into the category of RELIABLE?
A Vector LTX is a TANK.....I own one and if I rode meadows and high country I sure as well wouldn't own a Vector. And check out my question in the Viper forum.....consensus is to stay with a Vector for reliability.

I cannot thank you guys enough for the valuable insight. This has been very helpful.
I will admit the 900 ACE sounds enticing, but as mentioned we are just too skeptical on Ski Doo reliability. Not to mention I cant seem to find one for sale in Washington. I would be willing to drive 4-6 hours into Idaho or Oregon if we KNEW what we wanted and that it was available, but that is not the case.
So, without a 4 stroke ski doo or a Vector to test ride, and the Nytro being ruled out I guess I will pick her up a Viper tomorrow . . .

If your getting her a Viper MTX, maybe contact stingray719 on this site and ask him how to set it up. He does mostly deep snow but I believe his wife has an MTX also, so he will know what needs changing to make it handle for her.

Well . . she loves it!
Absolutely loves it. Thanks for the advise everyone!
She rode around 5 miles from the truck. I observed zero inside ski lift during that time. "So far so good" I thought.
She stops at the intersection, jumps off the sled, high fives me and yells "this sled is f*#%ing awesome!"
No issues the entire day. She looked more confident than ever, and had FUN the entire day.
Cool . .
And just a couple more from the day.
