Due to a 14 year old squid hitting my '05 Vector ER, my left front suspension had to be replaced, including the bulkhead. It also tore up the various plastic body pieces. It was all fixed by the dealer and works fine, but when I picked it up, the new plastic frame piece behind the shock had 4 holes along the edge. It was (supposedly) a new part shipped from Yamaha, but nobody (including Yamaha) can figure out what these 4 holes are (see pic).
Is there some kind of accessory or other such thing that uses these holes? The original piece didn't have the holes, nor does any of the other '05 and '06 RS sleds that I can find.
Any ideas? The dealer is replacing the piece as we speak with a new one that doesn't have the holes, but I was wondering if any of the rest of you have seen these holes?

Sorry to hear about getting hit.
Don't have a clue what the holes are for.

Aha! Yep, that's it. They're not selling many mountain Vectors here in Minnesota so I couldn't look at one, but the pic from the Yamaha web site does indeed show a deflector right in that spot. My dealer either ordered the wrong part, or Yamaha sent the wrong part.

Go ahead and order the deflectors to fill the holes, they do a great job of keeping the snow from comming over the hood.
