Went for the second ride of the year last Saturday, put on 116 miles the trails were pretty much trashed and ungroomed with allot of rough stuff. About half way through I was getting a belt slipping issue, thought my secondary was probably in need of service and sticking open but when I went out to cleam my clutches this morning I discovered my skid plate was gone all together. My belt slipping was caused by snow getting into the clutches. Don't want to loose another weekend of riding so I need to get a skidplate next week. I remember looking at a Roest Skid Plate on here a year or so ago, wonder if thats the way to go or if there are other options available? Called and left a message to Mountain Tech hoping he has one in stock. Scary to think I rode as far as I did without anything covering the bottom end and pure stupidity that I didn't pop the cover and look. Consider myself very lucky given the trail conditions. Looks like I will have to clean the mothballs off of the wifes Fusion to ride this weekend.

Had the same thing. Doing hindle and noticed my skid was missing. OFT sells the skids. See if he can get you one overnight. I just installed mine this am and heading up north to play.
Good luck.

Thanks for the order! It'll go out in the morning. Let's see how fast you get it.

I can honestly say that the skid plate has saved me twice now. I have the long one that covers the heat exchanger. It looks like new except for some stone dust from rocks.

Both versions protect the front heat exchanger in the same way.
