Looking for recommendations on what carbide to run. Since it has EPS I'm not sure which one to go with. Don't want to drive 500 miles to snow and be disappointed. Not studded

That's is a good question. I'm just going to use the ones that came with it and adjust from there. I hear they are really pretty good. I figure if it is really bad I could buy a pair of dual runners someplace. I have the same sled as you.

The EPS makes steering easier but it doesn't eliminate darting entirely.(at least it didn't on the EPS Apex I rode last year)

With EPS however, you can run a much longer carbide and not feel the extra steering effort, just gain the extra handling/cornering running them.

Lots of info on what people like, just do some research and go with what seems like the best to you.

Bergstrom Triple points are a good runner but check the ski/studs section below for more info.

I had 6" on my Rage, no studs and it handled really nice after I lightened the ski pressure.

130 miles on the LTX now with original runners.
The trails were really crappy, thin and icey, so I will leave it for now.

Some places they dart really bad and others not so bad.
Power steering doesn't stop darting thats for sure

It will take some setting up.
Its a pretty jumpy sled right now but like I say the trails were crap.

Looks like this weekend may be better so I will try it again

Got a lot of snow there? We are planning a trip to the UP for next week. They're getting some snow now and more next week if the snow angles do their thing.

I also went from a 2006 Rage to a LTX. Leaving Sunday am for Wawa with zero miles on the sled. I am thinking I will go with 6" doolys

That was my plan if the originals don't work out well.

I think 6" duallys would be a good fit.
I don't think 6" singles will be enough.
This sled makes you sit higher than the rage and wants to buck you off.
The thing is with power steering you forget to hang on tight enough

I got 300 miles on my 2012 Vector LTX. I put 6" duece bars on right away, and have been pleased with them. Almost no darting, and steer well in the corners. This has been on trails with good to marginal snow conditions. My transfer rod is set in the middle right now also.

Agressive snowtrackers! They came out with a new part # for the new skis 2011 and up.

I lightened up my ski pressure and added dual 6" carbides and it really made a big difference on my apex. Almost eliminated darting except on the worst of trails, the stock single carbides were really hunting and darting in some of the better conditions on my first couple rides.
