Ok I am going to be looking at a 04 RX-1 Warrior today that a guy is selling locally. Here is the ad for it on craigslist.

http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/rvs/1420724875.html

It has 9K miles on it. I guess he has been up to date on oil changes and what not. Only thing he has done has replaced a bearing on it on the driveshaft. I was wondering what I should be looking for when I go and look at this sled. 9K miles I understand isnt a lot on 4 strokes but I am a little hesistant on it. So any advice would be great!!

theres lots of more knowlegable guys here than me, but here's what i would look at-
1. check the main skid suspension for cracks- mostly the front w arm
2. your skid bushings will probably be toast. replace them for $80
3. speaking of toast- the bogey wheel bearings are probably cooked.

i have an 03 rx1 and its been a good ride. lots of knowlege here

Its a nice sled and really what do you buy these days for 3500.

It looks like its in great shape 9000 miles is a lot. But I have seen about 5 to 8 of them plain ER's with stock skis for 4000 to 4500.

Those are Simmons skis but not Gen 2 thats the mountain version. You'll love them on the trail. Youll probably want to install a 13 mm swaybar. The proaction suspension in the 136" was not as harsh as the 121's.

Offer him 3000 and see what happens.

Yeah I figured I would be doing some work on the skid, probably different shocks as well front and rear. I will be sure to look at the W arm for cracks as well. I was thinking about that as well offering him that.

Wow your only paying for the upgrades and the sled is free. He has taken care of the 03 issues except for the rings. You may burn 1 qt every 1000 to 1500 miles and may want to change the skis bu I would ride it first to see. The suspension and track is wirth over 2K. Miles are great and he has put a lot of time into it to make it looke that good.

I was going to offer him 3500 and go from there. What can I do in order not to burn a qt of oil? New rings?

yeah but I had an 03 that did not burn oil it depended on how they were broke in.

I would not re-ring if it does burn oil, you don't smell or see it just have to check it periodically.

Ok so basically it will burn oil like a 2 stroke? No biggie. Lets hope it looks as good and runs as good as it does in the pics.

What would you guys choose the 03 with the m10 or the warrior?

Well went and checked it out tonight and its pretty nice. The guy wont budge on the price at all. I made him an offer and he didnt even counter offer, so I may just wait it out and see.
