Hi guys:

I currently have the 03 RX-1. I'm looking into getting a newer sled. I've heard great things about the Apex.

Questions:
1. My RX-1 burns some oil regularily. I hear this is a problem with the 03's. Do the newer 06 Apex have the same issue or have they corrected that? I'm quite pleased with the RX-1, other than the oil burning issue.

2. I ride generally rough & bumpy trails, sometimes groomed. What type / model of sled would you experienced 4stroke riders recommend? I hear the suspension on the new 06's is awesome.

3. Are there any "common" problems with the Apex that I should be watching for if I decide to get one?

Any tips / suggestions / input is greatly appreciated in making this decision.

Basically, the apex is amazing. Ive never heard of oil usage. I have only heard of one problem with the 06 apex, and thats handwarmers that dont work. new handlebars fix it.

I rode one and fell in love with it. VERY easy to handle, feels like a lightweight. Climbs awesome, sidehills like no tomorrow, and carves like it is meant to do it.

The suspension on the 06 is a good one. its heavy, but it does its job nicely. I liked it. also works well for deep snow.

I would get an 07 Apex mountain. I just loved riding it. if i was not supercharging mine for the upcoming season, i would be on apex right now.

I suggest picking up a new leftover Apex. If you like your RX-1 you will love the Apex and it doesn't burn oil ;)!

keep them coming

thanks for all the suggestions, I'd love to hear more opinions

I live in Ontario, no mountains, and it's rare that we get a lot of powder all at once. Perhaps 1/2 a foot at a time is the norm.

We get a lot of heavy drifting on our 'groomed' trails, but the moguls can be hard, close together, and 3-4 m in height. Since they're usually wind drifts, you cannot plow through the snow, it's usually the hard snow that makes moguls.

I monitor and patrol the trails in my area, and when I stop 100+ sleds a day, 40% of the guys are riding Apex's in the area , and they all say, "I love this sled!!" which tells me something.

I like the idea of the adjustable ride without having to pull out the suspension!

Keep them opinions coming!

Thanks again everyone
