Have you thought about turning it in to your insurance and let them pay to fix it?
If you carry insurance thats what its for.
Good Luck!!!

No Full coverage
I only carry some liability on it. Kinda wish I had full coverage now. It won't be that big of a deal. Few hundred bucks and 15-20 hours of time I figure. Nothing like some good bonding time with the one you love. Sorry Honey..........I'll be in the garage!

Just for the future, full coverage does not cost that much at all...and you can turn the coverage down to just theft and fire in the summer when your not riding.

YIKES! That's a tough call. If it were mine, I'd be torn between Fixin-it or scrapin-it for a down payment on an '06 - Either way, you end up tearing it down so what do you do?
Best of luck to you.

Would it be worth contacting your insurance company?
I think this is covered under the insurance, then let the dealer do it.

I would guess that if you turned that into your insurance company they would total it. Insurance companies have a magical formula that calculates parts and labor vs. value of machine and most of the time with something that significant they would total it.
Regardless of the fix, good luck and hope your back in action soon.
