Just back from a 620 mile trip in the UP. Stock Attack geared down to 23/40, using Iceripper XT sharp stud track and can walk right away from f-1000 cat using 2.5 g. in the middle of new weight using the new pro-line kit. Turning 10,700 and will walk away from a f7 I was dead even with prior to, by about 4 MPH. The f-1000 would walk away from me prior to switching out the clutching. Also using the new 8dn-01 belt which pulled the R's down about 200. Still weather dependent as to what you can run for weight in the clutch. First day had nothing in the clutch weight to get 10,600, it was around 31 degrees with loose snow. Driven wrapped to 80 using the new red driven spring in the kit. Next day was 10 degrees and would pull 10,700 using 2.5 gram in middle. Also needed good crusty groomed trail to hook up and fully utilize the additional track HP this clutching provided. If I was hooked up, I could walk right away from the 2008 f-1000 from the hit of the throttle and drive away. If I was in loose traction, he would pull away and I had to catch him and drive away. He had studs and was hooking better in the loose condition, I only had the Iceripper. Very pleased with this setup. I may even go back to stock gearing using the pro-line, to tame the bottom and mid with this kit. Using stock clutching, I think gearing down is still best with stock clutching, and if you are a heavier rider in the snow conditions. Feel bad for the ski-doo xp, machs and f-1000 guys. OK maybe not, puts a real spring in your step with a "heavy, slow four-stroke" beating up on the lighter and higher HP two-strokes. This new weight is very easy to change the tuning trail-side, it takes more time to get the plastic and clutch guard off than it does to change the tuning on the weight. Sure wish Yamaha would go back to a hinged hood!

How much do these weights weigh? Are they the same profile as DPYR's?

I can't wait to go out on mine tonight. You have 65.8grams worth of weight there revving 10700, what primary spring is this?

I have them right here. They are 63.3 grams each empty. I have DPYR66's here also on my desk.
They are both nearly the same profile, with the NEW weight having some more underneath it.

Same profile but a little different balance, and much easier to tune. Very nice to tune on the trail with changing conditions. The tuneability is worth the price of admission alone.

The next thing about these weights is when I spoke to Dale at Dalton this week, he had made the comment that he only made 100 sets of them and they all went to PROLINE. (not sure where Mike got his)
So I had to get mine from the CDN Proline distributor. He had them in stock for the kits and to 'upgrade' fellas that already had the kits!
I think if some people want them, they had better act fast! Like Mr Knapp says, "The tune ability is worth the price of admission alone"!!!!!

Got mine right from John @ Pro-line. Using the red primary spring that came in the new kit. Also went to the new 8DN-01 belt which pulled the R's down a couple - three hundred RPM.
I have a 2006 rtx. I put a bender helix from bender that says 9870 on it. I had it on a 98 700 srx. It seems to work really good with a silver spring.
It turns about 10600 rpms. I have a speed sheath on the front clutch and I put in cr10ek plugs. I can turn about 110 mph on my gps. I have a buddy that has a zr900 cat that can take me by 3-4 sled lengths. He has done some things to it but I don't know what. I also have a snow stuff rumble pack. Is there anything different that I can do to wake this up. I want to put this kitty cat to sleep. But I don't want to spend the money for a super charger just yet. I hear about a lot of different things so its hard to know what to buy.
Thanks,
John

Well, managed to get 100 miles of riding in yesterday. This including lots of lakes and even one that is 9 miles long!
Lots of snow, so the lakes where not hardpacked yet.
I made a total of 3 adjustments.
1st was 5 mins after installing the weights...I started with a set screw near the tip, about 1.5 turns back.
Sled roared to life, but rpm pulled down to 10300 very quickly. So I backed out 4 or 5(I thinks) more turns.
2nd after a long lake run, I backed em out another 18 turns.
3rd time I tried them another 2 turns out.
I think I need to add a little one at the tip and have one at the heal.
I really loved to feel of the sled, power was always there. Steady 10700 rpm down the lake, or when I jam it WOT on the trail!
All in all, like Mr Knapp says, you can't beat the adjust ability on the trail!! It takes a long as it take you to get your side panel off and clutch guard, to make a change!!
These weights are AWESOME!
I'll post more if I think of it!! Let my coffee kick in!

Find out what's done to the ZR, and what year is it. I put a D&D clutch kit in my '06 ZR and my buddies '06 Apex bone stock woult put a length on my and hold there till close to top end. Did you run him with your stock clutching?

Does a different helix come in the kit or is the stock helix good enough?
