05 rx1, 10 nytro, 10 z1 turbo
05 rx1 cpr turbo installed by simon. need ideas this sled will not pull rpm. hh clutch kit 61.5g 7/16 steel in 2 hole nothing in tip 3/4 allen in heel 9-1 spring setting. will not go over 9500 rpm, i keep pulling weight out of clutch and there is little change. so i dont think its a clutch issue. it seems like a fuel problem. this sled only has 50 lake miles on it. starts and idles fine. pulled plugs 3 were very clean new looking 1 was a little rich. new plugs installed no help, checked for stuck needle valve, looked fine. looked at tees, vent lines all look good. 112 torco split with 89 fuel. boost guage shows 7lb low and 9 high. exhaust temps at wot between 1200 and 1400. today at anchor bay, sled bogs till about 20 feet out then goes to about 9300-9500 rpm and drops down to about 9100 and stays there. any ideas will help. thanks chris :o|

Sounds like a kinked line. Maybe from the carbs to the intercooler or the fuel regulator. I am running HH's at 232 grams which would be 74 each, so something isn't right there. What helix and primary spring are you using? You should be over revving with that little weight.

Chris...mine is doing the exact same thing...so exact it is scarey!! I reglued the T,s...did not help! We have the exact same problem. PM me if you fix it & I will pm you if I fix mine!!! I am down to 62 grams with HH,s running 50/44 Advant-edge helix pulling 9800 but no power. Hi boost is 10,200 but only slightly faster then a 800 rev. Just seems to fall on it,s face & make no power!!!!

does yours have a cpr turbo? also what fuel are you using and have you cleaned your carbs. everbody i talk to thinks its a fuel problem.

Chris..I have Jeffs Turbo. My boost guage reads good & so does my A/F gauge. The sled just falls on it,s face & loses power at wot! My carbs have been off, t,s reglued, regulater checked.....going bonkers about now. We have the exact same problem!!!! It is probably fuel delivery related. At least I know I am not crazy & hope we can get this issue fixed!!!!

Chris - did Jeff do a thicker head gasket on your sled? Wondering if the cams have been out of the motor. Also, any chance you are running a fuel pressure gauge? Were you re-jetted when the turbo was installed?

jeff did this install. stock head gasket. no fuel pressure guage. im going to pull the carbs and clean them and check jetting this week. thanks

I'm telling you it is a kinked or restricted vent line. Your boost gauge will still show boost and is not impacted by this. But your carbs and fuel pressure is. This will cause you to lose power everytime. You guys are pulling less weight than a stocker. You are not pressurizing the fuel regulator or carbs properly. You can be jetted anywher from 125 to 140 and still work ok.

wasn't worried so much about the jetting as I was the carbs being put back together with all 4 o-rings etc. Pretty hard to see it being a kinked line when the FPR line is 4" long and right in front of you. Same with the float vent line - it is on top of the IC and definately not kinked. Going to replace all of the fuel/pressure lines on Turk's sled & check fuel pressure as next steps..

i talked to jeff and he thinks iam still running the stock jetting so i will check. says i should be running 130 mains. does seem to load up but cant tell by plugs. i will let you know. thanks

turk

Hey turk, Mine does that same thing only it doesnt matter what the revs are, its only at top end ,say 120mph hitts the wall, no power, im positive i have no kinks as ive had the thing apart 5 times, ive tried 130 s to 135s and know differance, put in the low compression pistons and still same thing, if i go by somebody at wot they hear popping but i do not on the sled, try going by somebody at wot above 110mph and ask them what they hear? as well its less noticable they say at 12lbs boost as it is at lesser boost levels,it runs fine otherwise and pulls like a freight train till that point, Let me know about the popping will ya, Id love to know if yours is the same problem
Vcrash

Mine is better at 10 pounds boost but still not the way it should be. Sled hits a wall & then quits pulling. It just seems to run out of go juice & falls on it,s face but it definately way worse at low boost!

at 10 pounds boost the wall comes at 80 mph..sometimes 100 mph. At 8 pounds boost it quits at 60' out.
