Here's the story and never have had this happen to me now four times just this weekend. Here's the scope, Was riding around my yard and got in a deep smow drift maybe three feet sled wouldn' move once I got into it The snow was very wet and sticky :o| :o| Smoked my brand new belt so when I took it apart the belt was sucked down into the secondary so cleaned the clutches and put another new belt on and went riding today well same #*$&@ happen but on level ground was turning around and with temps in the 40s and the sticky snow again my belt sucked down into the secondary again burnt the belt a little bit not bad but will change it out for my own peace of mind. I'm hoping it was because of the snow conditions sled only has 2000 miles stock secondary and D&F in primary What should I look for ??? :o| :o| :o| :o| Thanks for any help and conditions in Maine where I was are terrible if anyone is interested

Sometimes, in deep snow like that, if you let off the throttle and the sled stops immediately the secondary doesn't have a chance to backshift. The belt stays down in the secondary and you have difficulty taking off.

This would be a good one for Turk. I am thinking though you may want to increase the secondary spring tension so its not so easy to go so deep into the secondary. Dont do this though until you confirm with someone like Turk.

Make sure your secondary pretension is set properly. If your under heavy load & let off the gas quickly your belt will get hung up in the secondary. It is torque sensing & opens a lot quicker then it can close. Before you move a stuck sled make sure your belt is at least close to the top in the secondary.
Other issues to look for are
worn clutch bushings or a crapped out secondary spring.

Thanks Turk and everyone else. the secondary is stock white spring at 60 but will check everything out tomorrow to make sure evrything is ok Also have a silver and pink spring any thoughts Turk? I'm really starting to think with the wet sticky snow and I let of quick that my belt was just stuck in the secondary but will check tomorrow am Thanks Turk

Mark, You are useing the drag n flies that will pull harder than stock but you have left the secondary at stock setting with stock spring. You have the silver sping, try the silver at 90 wrap. This will back shift quicker and will also aid in full shift out. You will like the change.

Sounds like you let off the gas and the belt didnt have a chance to roll enough to get back to the top. I have had this happen a few times when I first got my sled. Just give her a little room to roll out.
