Yamaha Nytro xtx 2010
I have a nytro xtx 2010 that have curently this setup:
star suspension
jre proto 3 spindle
oft relocator
modified exeaust and muffler
mpi supercharger sea level 6 psi
head porting + 7%
bergstrom skegs triple point 8 inches
bergstrom skegs trail graber 288 screws on the track
track ripsaw 1 1/4 by 144 long, not fully cliped
oilite busching full
Ulmer supercharger clutch kit
Power comander 5
auto tune

The sled goes nice but as soon as I get off the trail ( 3 foot of snow is enought to be stuck )the back of the sled dig itself a hole and it is shovel time.

I would like feedback on my ideas below, and any suggestion to have a better flotability.

1- remove the incurved rails and plut straight rails instead.
or
Put a A.D Boivin Zx-2 rear suspension : Some peaple say that this suspension does not work properly with configuration with a lenght beyond 136 inches, but I have no clue if its true or false.

2- I have the possibility to buy a used Diamond S 162 inches rear titanium tunel for an affordable price.
?
I do trail riding most of the time, I go offtrail when I need to go to a housse. I would like to have offtrail capacity so that way I could do some, is a 162 inches by 1 3/4 to 2 inches lugs track suitable for 90% trail riding?
How the cornering hability is gona be affected?

3- putting mountaintech A-arms 41 + 3
anybody tried those combine with the jre proto 3?

4- I have the possibility to get handlebar and others small parts like these in titanium at an affordable price (used)

5- puting all titanium nuts and bolt to the skid for about 400$

6- I am trying to find a diamond S titanium front subframe.
?
Is it worth it to rmove some weight by putting some titanium parts.

There it is, what is worth doing and what is not doing, and any sugestion are welcome

Just put a 1.75" track on there or got 8 tooth drivers and step up to 2" plus if you really need. I'd say the majority of xtx nytro's are running the 1.75" backcountry track. That's what I have and I have almost no trouble in deep snow. Part of it may be your technique too don't just gun it when you hit the powder work your way up to speed. You could pull your limiter straps up some too but in my case it hasn't been necessary. Mines completely stock and im pretty hefty but I really don't have much trouble in the deeper fresh snow unless I'm doing something stupid. Lol.

THanks you Farmer and yes my tech is not very Good outsid of the trail .
Thé strap is attendre thé thightest position sont Thatcher May beaucoup the problème as you said.

Sounds like a real nice ride!
X2 for the 1.75" backcountry. This track and the oft relocator were by far the best improvements to my XTX. The track was night and day off trail and in deeper snow, and great on trail too. No need for all the mods and longer track.

In my opinion - I'd consider ditching the JRE Kit. I can only speak for using stock shocks. I believe it delivers pretty much as advertised, but personally I found my sled too low both in the front and with the XTX skid lowering kit. Lots of people love the kit, I just felt my sled took a small step back when off trail. Again, just my opinion.

On second thought your supercharger kit might be adding too much weight, maybe you should send it to me!

Since you primarily ride trail, I don't think the backcountry track is right for you, especially since you have the lug screws. IMO a 1.5" track with the lug screws would be a better option, since you get a bigger lug for off trail, but keep the screws for on the trail.

Another thing to consider is your skis, you don't mention anything aftermarket there, so I assume that you have the stockers. If that is the case, a wider aftermarket ski really helps keep the front end on top of the snow at lower speeds. With the JRE spindles it is all together possible that the front end starts plowing the snow on you, and thus spinning the track and trenching with the added power and small lug track.

True moab i do have thé stock skis, but i have in thé garage a set of yamaha Mountain skis thé traditional one not thé mp 9

Thé front stay on top of the snow and the rear spinal and trench.

Thé first step is to put m'y Mountain skis on.

If you switch to the 1.75 back country you will see a huge improvement!
The only mods I have done to my suspension was the Star XTX kit and shock service along with a heavy duty center spring and i have the Hygear torsion spring spacer.
I have the rear shock set soft (2-3 clicks), 3/4 preload on the middle spring, and the torsion spring set at medium.
The two factors i find affect the off trail ride-ability of this sled are:
1. Pull the limiter strap 1 notch, I have tried all of the settings and this seems to be the sweet spot!
2. Run your track loose! Keep it as loose as you can!!

If you change to a back country track, you should also put on some extrovert drivers!
This track hooks up great, and is fine for trail riding! I would not go any bigger for the trails!
I think you have too much power for the track you are running!, but it must be a beast on the trails!

definitely put the mountain skis on, they will help the front end float in the snow better which makes the back end work better also....

Get rid of the ripsaw. Great on the trail but will dig ya some nice holes when ya want to play in some decent snow. Skis maybe.

Another vote for 1.75. Not too much for the trail unless you ride a lot of ice... Definitely better when you dip off too.
