need help on uncooperative nytro

Mine did the same thing last season. When I checked it out, I found blue bromofungiean (corrosion) down in the starter relay (solenoid) terminals.
On mine it looked like water had wicked its way down the terminals, and I suspect corroded the relay contacts inside.
I replaced the starter relay and applied some die-electric grease to the connectons just for good measure. ;)!

ok well going to dealer tommoro so ill ppob get a relay and some new plugs CR10EK of course:)

talked to my dealer and they think i got a bad connection on a cylinoid

anyone know what the relay number is?

3EL-81940-02-00 ;)!

Is that the Yamaha part number or the relay number?

that is the yammie part number

Yep, I call it a starter solenoid. It is refered to as a starter relay in the Yammie parts catalog.
The positive battery cable connects to it, and it has the two fuses mounted to the top of it.
It's easy to replace, I recommend dis-connecting the ground cable from the battery first. To prevent accidently shorting out your wrench, when removing the battery cable from the solenoid (relay).

Ahhhh, the old 12V arc welding warning..... ;)! Good advice.

Edited, first post

Do yourself a favour and buy 2 relays. Even if you put dielectric grease it can still happen again. Especially if your sled frequently goes from a heated building to cold and back, or gets left in the rain.
