Need help...what jetting for ECP in the mountains?

Hey Guys,

I have an ECP filter kit on my 03 RX-1 ER and am thinking of a trip to Revy here in a few weeks, but my sled is jetted for the prairies. Can anyone tell me what I should have in there for mountain riding.

I have a 136" extension and 1.25" track, but were just going to play...or at least i am so no need for anything more this go around, but i do want the sled to run right while I'm there.

Anyone have any ideas?

i run the 160's in mine and it works good.you wood be fine with 155'also. have fun

Put on a Holtzman ATACC and it will compensate the fuel flow for you automatically. I have used one for years.

Thanks you for the letter. I would suggest going to 155 or even as low as 150 main jets. The needle position you are going to have to play with. As a rough start lean it 1 clip position my moving the clip up on the needle. If anything it will be rich at idle as well, you might want to consider closing the pilot fuel screws to somewhere arounf 1 to 1.5 turns open. In my instructions, I state to open them to 1.75 to 2.0 turns open froma seated position. You may already know this but I am not sure. The Yamaha factory sets each cylinder separately for EPA/pollution reasons. Therefore you will see 1 cylinder set at 1/2 turn open another at 1 turn open and etc. Seat them all down lightly and open them to 1.0 turns open to start with. The largest hill near my shop is only 500 feet above sea level so I will admit to not being an altitude rider. I cannot stress this enough...IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU USE GENUINE MIKUNI MAIN JETS. I have them in stock should you need them. I would suggest purchasing 4 155's and 4 150's.

This was for a trip to Togwotee at 8-10k feet. I used the 150s and it ran perfect. I also suggest coolant shut offs for the carbs. Do a search for details.
