Hey fellas, I am looking for some quick advice. My buddy has an Sr Viper that he wanted me to replace the rear bumper due to slight damage.
I removed the 20 mild steel rivets and the 2 - 10mm bolts but now I am on to these 8 rivets. Can someone advise me on if I should just start drilling or is there something else that should be done to remove them.
Thanks in advance
Jamie

Those are Huck rivets. Available from cat. Only way I have had any luck is to grind head off.Hey fellas, I am looking for some quick advice. My buddy has an Sr Viper that he wanted me to replace the rear bumper due to slight damage.

I had to install a bumper with the hitch on my viper and as Cannondale27 said you have to grind the heads the Huck rivets .. There is a self tapping torx bolt that replaces the rivets, works really well easy to install.. The bolts came with the bumper end hitch...

X2 with what the guys said about grinding the heads off of the Huck rivets. If your not reusing the bumper, it's actually easier to grind the head off of the outside (bumper side) and center punch them out.
I use a cut off wheel to grind the heads down. Also you may want to pick up or borrow a pneumatic rivet gun, makes the job go way faster and you pretty much need one for pulling the Huck rivets!

How did you make out with your bumper install? Any tip? I'm just about to do a tow bumper install on my new to me viper. Just ordered the bumper on Tuesday so won't likely see it till middle of next week.
