Need help with selecting handguards

Did the stock cables work with the 2''ROX? I'm thinking about getting them at nearly six and a half feet tall i find the bars to be a bit low.

YES...no problem what I did is re-routed the throtle cable somewhat and everything is fine, I'm also 6'-2" and like the hieght and also set them back a little to clear the windsheild on SHARP turns, I ride sitting 99% of the time and really like the position with the extra 2"...

P.S. That is 1 SWEET sled you got their ;)! if you get a chance post some pic's... :-o

I also installed a 2" ROX riser. I moved my bars forward though as I like my arms stretched out a little more. Very close to straight forward and only slightly higher. I also had to heat my standard windshield, to make a bubble in it for the brake lever to clear on full lock. I cant use hard handguards for that reason.

I have been using the PowerMadd guards with the mirrors...

I posted the flipping info on the Skinz. They are ok at normal trail speeds. Guessing now {since It was last season} at roughly 80mph and up is when they flip. Gets scary crossing lakes wfo.

I'm also running the Skinz, but I haven't not experienced the flip. This is almost certainly because of HOW I'm running them... I have the Yamaha hand guards installed behind the Skinz guards, basically making them more stiff.

That's obviously why they don't flip. But I don't see why you didn't just go with a larger hard hand guard?

Mainly because when I bought the sled (used) it already had the Yamaha hand guards installed. I ended up ordering the Skinz guards based on feedback on this forum. When they arrived I recognized immediately that they would probably flip when running at high speeds, so I left the other guards in place.

The Skinz guards do work - although not as well as I had hoped. I'm sort of on the fence about them right now. If I do switch, I'm either getting the guards that come standard on the FX Nytro, or I'm getting the Powermadd guards with extensions and gauntlets
