2009 Yamaha Nytro xtx
hi I have 2009 Yamaha nytro xtx and it has a squeal at idle and when the track is in the air at idle the track slowly moves. I realize the belt is dragging on the primary just trying to see what will fix this problem. runs great and doesn't eat belts. just annoying squeal!!! please help thanks jake

No it has squealed every since I bought it off previous owner. But squeal is louder with my new belt! I take it that is the 3 8mm bolts on back of secondary if so do I add or remove washer? And also the 3 outside washer on secondary where it bolts to shafts aren't tight against secondary meaning they have more play than I think they should. The bolt goes tight against the collar insert rather than tight against with washers tight as well. I believe the secondary needs to be spread more apart.

The 3 8mm bolts on the back to shim. The outside washers should not be tight, there should be some play there, maybe 1/8" or so. I think taking a washer out spreads the 2ndary, but I can't remember 4 sure. If shimming doesn't work your clutches may need to be aligned, maybe, but there are some smarter folks here than me.....maybe others will chime in.

yes take washers out from the 8 mm bolts, this will spread the sheaves and stop the squeal.

If you get that new belt adjuster from OSP you can ditch the three bolts on the back of the secondary and adjust belt deflection from the front. If not you'll need to take out a shim or two. Probably just one.

Check clutch alignment.....
