- Yamaha Nytro xtx 2010
I have a phaszer fx-2007 that I trade in for a brand new fx-nytro xtx 2010
the way the phaser is setup, it is a crazy sled good handling, cornering and a dream machine on very rough trail.
phazer setup: A.D.Boibin zx-2 rear suspension
front suspension GYTR
Bergstromskegs triple point 8 inches carbribe, ski savers and shims
track is camoplast 136 inches 'intense' 11/2 inche
scmith bross stage 1 cluth
scmith bros ram air plugs
scmith bros double pipe exeaust
I want the nytro to be as good or better than the phaser was.
Nytro xtx setup: install of A.D.Boivin zx-2 rear suspension (the greatest product I ever own and ride with)
front suspension GYTR star suspension said if I change shock the min is foxfloat evolx or r, because GYTR works better than the other, and to have the subframe reinforce by a good welder
Bergstromskegs triple point 8 inches carbribe, ski savers and shims
Mtx skis 'not the mt-9' the regular Mtx
Yuasa 7s batery
cluth will be adjusted to 2900 rpm as sugested by scmith bros
the scmith bros double pipe is the same as the phaser so it go on
I would like to know what are the other important mods I have to do on this sled, it is still in its wooden crate so it is the perfect time to mod it. I want it to be a good ride as my phaser is, or better if it is possible.
Does the 2010 xtx need to close the tunel or yamaha corected this for that year?
I do most of the time groomed trail but I realy like it is full of bumps, I think this is kind of crosscountry? for the offtraill aspect I do some nearby fields, exit a trail to go to a friends house, like to do donuts in powder snow, some hill climbing and jumping (high power lines on the hills) so I would say 70% groomed trail and 30% off trail. The phazer was perfect but lacked power, I hope the nytro will be up the task.
Your advice on what more need to be done ?

Nytros in stock form all suffer in the handling dept to various degrees. An OFT relocator is a good start, better skis will help but the best thing to do (while not cheap) is to put a Skinz front end on. It's not absolutely necessary as the sled can handle well with other mods, but the Skinz kit is a surefire way from all the reviews I've read.
Instead of the ADBoivin skid you can try a Star Suspension kit which is much cheaper, although I see you already have the other skid from your Phazer, you'd just have to extend to 144.
Other mods would be intake mod, CR10EK plugs, Oilite bushings, skid plate (Roest is a good product), and lost more. Again, all not NEEDED but do make the sled a bit better.

thank you DelgatyXTX I will check on those, I already look at skinz concept it look great.
Other sugestion are welcome
l also found infomation on this site about the geometri coreaction of the front table on 2010 that would be the same as the skinz concept?
There is a lot of info for the 2009 and older nytro here but for the 2010 is the same aplys, ball joint...or yamaha did corect some of those, just do not want to change a good part for the same.

- OFT Relocator for sure no matter what! ($160)
- If you don't go with the skinz kit, I would still recommend the ball joint mod listed in the FAQ section. It was origionally created for the 2008's but still helps the camber angle a bit for the newer Nytro's (Machining $40)
- I would recommend different skis than stock. The MTX ski's work good. The Tuner and C&A skis have had good results also. ($300-$400)
- You will need a tunnel block off plate with the 2010 Nytro. OFT and several others make one. I riveted in a 12"X24" sheet of aluminum. Yamaha never fixed this issue. ($12-$100)
- The rear skid on the nytro has poor progression. If you don't decide to install the ZX2, go with the star suspension kit. (Star $300)
- last but not least, I would recommend a shock re-valve/re-charge. Out of the crate, the shocks are usually low on charge. I pulled my shocks strait out of my 2011 with 0 miles. Find someone that can valve them progressively. I'm 200lbs and so far 50% stiffer in the front and 30% stiffer in the rear works great, but I am an aggressive rider. ($180)
That would bring you in the ballpark with your phazer.

RIDE IT!! Alot of these add ons are based on personal preference, ride it and see what you like and what you dont, the only "necessity" IMO is the Mountaintech skid plate (will save your oil filter, heat exchanger, etc if you hit something)
