i have talked to a number of performance shops about using a mpi supercharger kit on the phazer (including ulmer, hartman, alpine, etc. ) to get ideas about clutching and tuning. NONE have done any boosted phazers. concern was that the 500 cc engine is already pretty radical getting the 80 horsepower, and by boosting to 140 hp might be putting it beyond reliability. and suggesting that the nytro might be a better alternative to achieve 130+ hp... BUT, I LOVE THE WAY THE PHAZER FEELS
could some of you guys with phazers that are boosted share your experience and point me in a direction of a shop who helped with clutching etc. i don't want to make a $5,000 mistake...
i plan to ride mostly at 1000 feet above sea level here in ohio, mostly field and orchard riding. alot of point and shoot acceleration, and some top end stuff in addition to the ditch banging

the turbo motors are holding up. at least what is concerning the power part of the engine. tough little bastards these ones.
the troublesome starters and some other things not directly related to the boosting is ofcourse a PIA for a few owners.
basic clutching is not a big problem. Here is picture of a basic setup of Super Tips weights to help any with turbo projects. The superchargers just need a different setup.

I have a little over 800 on mine with no issues (knock on wood)so far except for the hard start and i love mine now I still needs a little clutching as it over revs abit and this cause some backfiring & sputters like a govenor is on,So anyone got a killer setup for sea level and up to 1000 feet and or another setup for snow draging(no studs stock 2" lug track) my mtn turbo phazer for 660 and 1000 feet.Oh also what gearing would you suggest for both distances, gears are also still stock and the most i can get out of her is 129km on a lake.Any suggestions for a killer all around kit and drag kit?
Thanks Roger

mine underrevs a little bit.. you have the lighter Mtn. 17/41 gearing ? and 8 tooth drivers and the heavier track.
I have this super tips setup now, and 20/41 gearing.
Maybe I should remove a washer or two from the tips ???
