I have the same set up and was having the same issue. I have my front strap 3 1/2 holes down, rear 2 holes and removed the two spacers on the secondary and went back to the stock helix and spring leaving Ulmers set up on the primary. In decent to good conditions on the lake I hit 108- 112mph.............. and 100-102 in any conditions.. on the dreameter of course......

Gear up, I have 22/38 and top speed is around 110 on smooth flat conditions, some have said it didnt work in there's but it worked fine in mine even before the other mods I had done. You may want to try getting your rpm's up a little first My nytro seems to like 9100 best.gaslighter01 said:Anyone have any ideas? Go with a 1" lug track. and less studs.
This will add top speed as well.

You bought a ditch banger. If you want good top end buy an Apex.

I do have the taller top gear. What shims on the secondary are you talking about? I have removed all the weight from the tips of the weights to get more rpm but cant seem to get anymore than 8850.

Re: speed
I installed a Yosh Ti RS5 exhaust and I get 9200 rpms easy on the holeshot, and over 8950 rpms at WOT. Ran twice against an 02 ZR 800 with mods the past weekend, and almost ripped the decals clean off his hood up to 1200 feet.

If you're riding in softer spring conditions or with Excell exhaust on the Stage 2 setup you may need the stock secondary spring (black with pink dash on it) set at 6-2.
