I know the Cat turbos get trash talked a lot on here but my local dealer is offering huge discounts ($6k off msrp) on 2015 models with 0% financing.... The temptation is getting very strong! However, I have never driven one of them and really don't know how I will like it. I know they are no faster than my Apex from 0-80mph but thats about it. Is the throttle lag about the same as the 1200 Doo? If anyone here has some seat time on one, I would like your honest, unbiased opinion. BTW, the leftover Apes are not even close to the price of the Cat because I considered one of them too....

Don't know alot about them but you can crank them up fairly easily. My cousin has his at 330hp and it literally rips your arms off when you grab the throttle

Literally? How are you typing without arms? Are you Stephen Hawking?"...literally rips your arms off when you grab the throttle"

I have never drove one of the Procross sleds but I have spent a lot of time on a boosted twin spar cat. The twin spar fits me like a glove and rides very good. Love the motor boosted but I have not drove a stock turbo cat. At 225 hp it would be all I need for trail, what a rush. Made a pass this year at 275 hp and it was crazy fast. I got out of it at 130 mph while I was still alive. It was still spinning the track at over 100 mph and this thing is loaded with studs.
If I had the money I would have a twin spar turbo in my garage, I just love how I fit on that sled. That being said my RX1 still puts a big smile on my face and it has treated me very well over the years.

Friend of mine has one. I love it, handles similar to my nytro and its fast..... Grip heaters work great and sooo much heat on your feet. Heated goggle box too. It's the only sled I have ridden that I enjoy other than the nytro.
His pushes a bit in corners but its bone stock and he hasn't spent time trying to correct it yet. You can pick them up cheap, imo it's well worth the $$.
Don't get me wrong I hate cats, but I'd buy one of these. My buddy picked his new leftover for $7600

DON'T DO IT!! 2 of my good buddies bought them at the beginning of this season. 1 was stock, the other hopped up on roids including meth injection. 2 main reasons they couldn't get rid of them fast enough. 1, turbo lag, turbo lag, turbo lag!!! You punch the throttle and it goes nowhere till it builds boost. less than ideal on a sled! 2, belt eaters! if you like paying $250 per belt (some guys use 1 belt per trip) buy this sled!! Among other, it was a beast to try and tune the suspension. very heavy in the front end. buddy was whooped at the end of the day trying to man handle it around. IMO, it's a great lake and drag sled as once its built up boost, it pulls super hard. but if you mainly trail ride, i don't think you'll be happy.... even if they were giving them away!! 1 buddy took a $1200 hit just to unload it and buy a boosted viper, he hated the cat so much!!

My thoughts exactly... but maybe with the Yamaha and Cat friendship we are open to the discussion...LOL
My buddy was also worried about these sleds eating belts, but he hasn't blown one yet. I found the front end too light, I had to keep tapping the brakes coming into a corner to try to get the skis to bite. Definitely has a turbo lag.
I would make sure you have a good, knowledgeable local dealer, that really knows these sleds. Also hope you get a good one. If you read posts on other forums you'll find that many have had good luck with them, and some have had the belt eaters and nothing but trouble.
Fit and finish is not like yamaha. You'll find cheaper fasteners, corrosion, ugly stitching on seats, etc. The 1100 turbos are mapped very rich which also makes them look grimy, especially if you get a white one. You can see how rich they are when you hit the gas if you watch the exhaust.
My impression is it's not an old man's sit and steer sled. It reminds me of the nytro, you need to ride it, move your weight around and muscle it. I found that like the nytro it responded very well to rider input. (minus the push, but that's easily fixed)
Also had some seat time on my cousins Doo Enduro with a 900 ace. Handling is near perfect, good torque, but lacks on top. I was very bored riding this sled. Too easy, you just point and go.
If you do big mile days you might find the 1100 tiring because of the input. My nytro needed a bit more muscle that the AC and i start to fade after about 200 miles. but i still love the nytro, and never want to get off....)
