I found a 2007 Yamaha Apex RTX im interested in with 6,500 miles . Last year the suspension bushings, shocks, and exhaust donuts were replaced. It also has a 1.5 intense track on it.
Im looking for my dad who weighs 250 lbs and is 6'3". Is the dual shock torsion suspension better then the mono shock? Good price? anythin to look for in particular?

How does he ride? It's not a bad sled but the mono rides nicer!

If you can find an Apex er or GT I think he would like it better. The seats are softer than the RTX and they tend to ride nicer. The CK skid is more durable but even with a revalve doesn't ride as nice as a mono.

how about ltx? I think he likes the rtx since the seat is firmer so he sits higher. How is the mono for a guy over 200 lbs?

I am 275 lbs and found the mono shock too soft when the trails get beat up. easily bottomed out so I got the RTX, much stiffer suspension. Had the shocks revalved by Pioneer Performance and really liked it over the ER and GT.

Have to run the track super tight so it won't ratchet if he likes to go off trail. Even with mine super tight and no extra wheels though I can still get almost 2000 miles out of the graphite slides.
I think for a bigger guy a CK twin shocker would be a better choice. Also need big carbides or aftermarket skis to get it to turn. Revalve in the rear is a must!!!

Perfect sled for Him, I dont like the Mono skid. I love my 07 RTX and Im 260 LBS ready to ride. $6500-$7000 is a good price.
