It's time for the A-arms on my sled to move beyond plain bearings. The order of the day is needle bearings rotating on case hardened shafts, sealed with X-ring and maintained with zerk grease fittings. I built some needle bearing arms for my ATV. It was suffereing from the same sloppy quick wearing plastic bushings. 4 years on, the front end is still tight.

Modified stock arms are not very eloquent, but now 44" wide, time to test...

I like this idea. You thinking of making a kit to sell?
I don't know what it is about ohlins shocks, but damn those things look sexy.

How did you modify the stock a arms... interesting idea with the bearings...
I am considering producing all new long travel wide arms, but plenty of testing is required first...
Widening the stock arms is done by welding additional inner pivot tubes to the existing pivot tubes. Some gussets are added to carry the load. They are built purely for prototyping as it is a quick and easy way to test the width and the needle bearings.
