The good thing about Yamaha's lack of significant updates means it doesn't really matter, to me at least. I got a heck of a good deal buying my Vector as a left over. The 4 year warranty on my Nytro was not worth the extra money in ordering it via snowcheck because they didn't cover the main problems with the sled (terrible handling) I fixed the other issues myself higher quality parts.

The only time the snowcheck idea was any good around here was when Polaris was offering it in the early 90's. The Poo's were selling out so fast that if you didn't snowcheck, you weren't able to get one...at least at the local dealership (which sold the most sleds in the world and the world's largest Poo dealer).

I agree, I don't know why they still offer those programs? I remember buying my '01 Ski-doo MX-Z 800 on the spring break program and getting a coat. After the spring came around I felt like the coat showed the world what a chump you were by ordering a sled and paying too much for it. Then what do I do in '07? Order a fricking Nytro. Even though I got a deal on the sled had I waited until spring time or even up to two years later, I would have saved thousands since those 08's didn't sell in Alaska.

If you've got the money, who cares? A lot of cash can be saved if you wait; it goes for anything. But ordering in the Spring often gives enough incentives to make it a little sweeter. Usually finanacing rates, apparel, warranty, plus other discounts. I received all of them last Spring and came out close to the prices attained later on.
Don't forget, getting the absolute lowest price isn't always that important. Having a good dealer is. Also, this isn't an activity to count every penny. That's laughable. This is a rich person's sport and not representative (unless you're on something decades old) of our hurting economy. We're spending money to play for several days in a row; several trips a year. Lots of money. Saving a grand during the initial purchase is a wash when you consider everything else involved.

come on man rich mans sport, hope your being feciousous. My boat is worth at least two brand new sleds and a enclosed v nose trailer, snowmobiling is far from a rich mans sport more of the other way around.
With that said buying in the spring is stupid just to get a coat or something. saving 2-3 grand later will more thank make up for a chincy coat and a teaser financing option.

Nope, serious as a heart attack. Any activity like this takes a lot of money. Unless you're one of those Cadillac owners that lives in a double wide, this recreation takes some cash; something a lot of people don't have these days.
My take on a lot of owners, especially after reading their tag lines which describes all the stuff they put on their sleds..........they gag on gnats and swallow camels (in reference to buying a sled in the Spring - and wasting a bunch of money later).

Well I agree any sport or activity cost money for that matter. But i mean you can be on the trails with a $1000 sled and your pick up to bring you there. I call that far from a rich mans sport. And you dont havet to have 15k machines to me a snowmobiler. I have just as much fun and go just as fast as fast a 2011 sled on my 2005. But i agree you cant complain about the sport as it does cost money. But a 2-3 grand savings is a good savings in my book and like I said to get a 200 dollar coat that cost yamaha 20 bucks to make and a teaser loan just isnt worth it.

Then like now, Ski-doo offered an "X" model 800 that was supposed to be just like the race sled. Only available on spring order basis. As per the usual, the sled was not just like the race sled. I certainly didn't buy it to get a coat! I would have been better off and money ahead to have just bought a plain jane base model and then bought high end aftermarket shocks and modded the sled into what I wanted/needed.
With Yamaha, a 4 year warranty available on snow check is not needed because the motors are so reliable.

With snowmobiles you have to question the warranties too. Like you said the 4 stroke will not go bad. I have plenty of friends who have had issues trying to get warranty work done. THey are nothing like a cars bumper to bumper

Isn't that the truth! Yamaha doesn't warranty the problem areas I had with my Nytro, I just fixed and improved them myself. The warranty was nice piece of mind if the motor let go but it wasn't worth paying extra to buy the sled in the spring. Generally if the motror is going to let go it will do it early on and a guy would have been covered by the base warranty. Sleds would cost quite a bit less if the OEM's didn't offer such long warranties.

No offense guys, but what does any of this have to do with this dealer's ridiculously good prices?

True true. But I think we were debating the fact of snowchecking or buying them now from a dealer like this.
Lastest greastest vs one year left overs. They dont compare IMHO. Some poeple are cheap like me and some have got to be the first one with the new model.

That is true. Problem is most of the time you are only talking paint scheme.
