Anyone having trouble using the 8dn-01 drive belt, my rpm went down 500 rpm, this is on good ice with good traction, changed back to my year old 8dn-00 belt & my 500 rpm's came back, only to find out Yamaha discontinued the 8dn-00 belt, any feed back would be great.
i heard the 01 belt is WIDER,thats why your rpm's dropped, makes for a little smooother take off?

something thats worked for me...remove the washers from the backside of the secondary...will let the belt fall a tad which will let off the tighness which is dragging down your r's...once the belt wears a bit and is sitting below the secondary sheaves...add the washers back in..

This is a good thing, it is grabbing the clutches better. Yes, depending on the miles on the old belt, the R's will drop with the new 01 belt. If you had a sled that was spinning 11,000 it will put you right in the sweet spot. If you weren't turning enough RPM before, you might think about gearing down, pulling some cam away from the driven, or lighting up on the clutch weights. What do you have for gearing and clutching now? What are the RPM'S? 10,500-10,700 is the sweet spot.
