I guess enough people are aware of this now that it is time to announce publicly that Brothers Performance Engineering has developed a rear mount turbo for the RX1, and will be producing a kit for the new 3 cyl motor as well.

This product has been exhaustively tested over the winter months, and testing will continue into the summer as our kit is campaigned on the asphalt circuit.

In designing the kit, we set reliability as the primary design criteria. I've fielded dozens of PM's over the course of the winter, and reliability appears without question to be the first concern of the potential turbo buyer. Performance is the next consideration, and after 1000's of miles testing I can say without reservation that the BPE kit makes power, and holds together in any kind of conditions.

For the Canadians - this kit is manufactured and shipped out of Manitoba. I think you will find our offering to be very attractive from a cost perspective. In the USA, Matt at the Speedshop will have exclusive distribution. Final pricing is pending, but expect this to be one of the more competitively priced kits on the market.

Huge thanks to all who have been a part of the proccess this winter.

I look forward to any questions or comments you have.

Thanks Jason, I'll definitely be spending some time south of the border this winter - I'm sure we'll get a chance to line up!

Lakercr,

Congrats on the Turbo project and its good to see a supplier
on this side of the border that can offer and support such a product.

Just spoke to Jason @ Lightning Pro and found him very friendly
and informative in the Turbo lingo and help me understand alot of
different issues.

I will be purchasing a Turbo this summer so i would like any info on
your kit as well. (pictures, pricing etc etc.)

Thanks Very Much Guys.

Hi all. I've had a number of messages already requesting more info. on the kit, pricing, availability etc. If you could please send me an email I'll add you to a distribution list I'm creating for regular updates (my email address is in my profile).

Answers to some of the more popular questions so far:

Yes, the kit includes an intercooler (as you can probably see now by the pics Matt put up). There is also an aluminium charge tube that runs under the tunnel, next to the protector that also helps to dissapate heat from the intake charge.

The kit includes an additional head gasket, as well as very comprehensive instructions for the head R&R, and of course the rest of the kit. the install instructions will be provided on a CD ROM, with considerable hi-res photos to detail the chronological install of the kit.

Horsepower will be in excess of 200hp on pump gas. Full dyno results will be available in the coming weeks. We still have snow conditions that will permit testing and are spending as much time as possible out in the field. When the lakes go away we'll do some pulls on the dyno and put that information out. The kit will ship with the boost set at 8lbs. Variable boost controls, additional instrumentation, and new guage pods will all be available as options.

Sorry, should also have mentioned that there will of course be clutch kits from the Speedshop available with the kit.

Final pricing is still pending, but you can expect this to be one of the lowest priced kits on the market.

Thanks everyone for your responses so far! I have quite a number of emails and PM's to work through, but I'm doing my best to respond as quickly as I can.

Thanks again,

Jim

We will have a complete clutching pacakge available for the BPE Turbo kit. The only details I can give now is that we will be using Heavy Hitters. By the time these kits are released, you will be given a clutching option, or if you wish to tune on your own, your more than welcome to...BBY
