I had changed over my old carbide bars which I believe are 6" Doolys originally (came with the sled when I bought it) and the other day replaced them with Stud Boys Duece Bars 4.5"

Two questions?

1) Can anyone confirm who makes the old ones (see pics) and

2) explain why when I changed them over that the sled now "wanderers" real bad. Feels like i'm rocking/shifting from left to right all the time. We did a quick measurement after the first ride with the Stud Boys Duece Bars and found the Toe out on the front alignment was about 3/32" out total (just measured the skis at two different locations). I will need to to a proper adjustment later.

Have you checked the front suspension bushings? Ball joints? They could be loose and worn out. While the Doolys were able to calm the darting, the Deuce bars aren't as successful.

The old ones are woodys. You might have been a victim of snow conditions. If the snow is loose, every sled will do that. I just put the Stud Boy Duells on last week. My sled usually doesn't dart, but the groomers hadn't been over the base enough. When the snow got harder, there was no darting.
