What do you think of this as a future sled engine www.circlecycleice.com???? Seems to hit the goals of light weight power, pretty radical concept.

Wow I dont think it will fly
Absolute precise alignment required. How would it hold up being jarred around in an off road vehicle? Looks like it would be designed to be a low-rpm motor with that kind of alignment needed
But hey i am no engineer either!

I agree I just can't imagine how the alignment could stay when bouncing around

Pretty interesting but everything is external. How is it lubed? How do you keep contaminants out of the cylinders? I can't see that thing holding up at high RPM's.

I just watched the animation... didn't realize it was in a case.
That is so very cool. They have a running model so the alignment cant be a problem remember they said the cylinder and piston do not meet. The floating piston ring assembly slides in and out of the cylinder side and I believe the pistion just pushes and seals just the middle of it as it pushes the floating pistion ring assembly in for compression. That is just so out of the box cool I am amazed at its rather simple concept. Maybe a two stroke is better after all.
