I have my new Garrett Ball Bearing turbo it should be good up to about 380 horsepower. I do have a problem , the turbo is a bit larger and it's hitting hood and the frame. The frame is not a big problem I just have to grind alittle off the side but the hoods could be a big issue. It looks like I need to cut into the headlight assembly so that it will clear the intake of the turbo. Of course that's a small price to pay for the gain in performance I should see.

380HP  YIKES ;)! Is that still on pump gas? At that horsepower would your boost be up at say 14lbs to 16lbs? Is their price on that comparable to any other manufactures?. Sorry for all the questions but I'm really starting to catch this turbo craze. ;)! :D ;)! 8) :-o

With low compression pistons
At 17.5 psi and pumpgas, the power will be about 300 hp.
At 22 psi and 102 octan racegas the power will be about 358 hp.
The turbo cost $1100.00

Really nice. I hope you don't develope a lag of some sort with the low compression pistons and the larger compressor wheel of that new turbo, which I am envyious of.

Lag- that is my biggest concern. The rep from Garrett said this new turbo will spool up faster than the smaller stock turbo because of the Ball Bearing technology. Bottom line there is only one way to find out. I think it will be fine on the ice running 660 ft. but the grass drags at 500 ft. might be a problem.. Running 1000 ft. now that going to be fun!!!!

Just curious, since you are having clearance problems, why aren't you placing the turbo under the seat in the rear, is it due to "lag" or another reason. Been researching this turbo craze and just picking your brain on your ideas?

RX-warrior, I havn't been on here for awhile, just seen the pictures of you new Turbo  Thats the spirit, don't be shy. I would love to pull the trigger on that beast. Are you going to have it going for the up coming grass drags? If so can't wait to see the results and video. Please take some video, thats what kept me building last year when it was hot out, watching your video over and over.................. SF

RX - are you going to be OK with the RX's oil pressure going into that turbo? Don't think the GT-R's want/need as much pressure as the older journal bearings.

When I ordered the turbo to have specify what will pressure I would expectancy at wot.I have only idled the motor for about 30 seconds so far.I don't think it's going to be a problem .

Hehe warrior could get the helmetcam set up and hook to the rear of his sled so we can watch the guys behind as they appear out of the dust when the run is done :yam: I got my helmet cam from www.helmetcamera.com it works good! ive use it on the snow and on the dirt
