Yeah, I tried that excuse 5 years ago. Got a little too far into the sauce at a bar b que and wrecked it 4 times on the way home. It cured me from ever drinking and riding again, but she hasn't let me out of her site with her sled since! Can't say I blame her.
I was gonna try to fix it on the down low, but when I found out I did $4500 in damages I had to put an insurance claim in and guess who works for the insurance company........you guessed it. My wife!
