New guy looking for advice on purchase

I'm really surprised how there can be so many opinions on which sled is liked better! Guess that is why the make 3 different versions of the same sled.To each their own. It all depends on how and where you like to ride. All 3 of them have their place.
Just like I love my Apex and my Nytro. They are two completely different sleds and I would hate to have to pick just one of them. I have places that I ride, that one is better than the other. I like to trail ride, but I also love to get off trail and play & go out west and play in the steep and deep! I guess that I am just lucky that I can have one of each, and not have to make the choice of one or the other.

I have a 2007 RTX and my father just bought a 2012 STD Apex last year. He added a 13mm sway bar. I rode it last year and I did not want to get back on my 07 RTX. It literally did everything better. Handled better, had more power, and rode nicer. The seat was nicer and it turned easier. I haven't tried the XTX or the SE but I wouldn't hesitate one bit on buying a STD model.

Some argue the XTX rides and handles better then the SE.

There may be some but most will go back to the SE once they have drove the XTX on 20 miles of stutters bumps. Hands down best trail sled is a standard Apex before an SE.

Agree that the ZX2 in my Warrior handles the stutters better then the XTX in fact I would say the ZX2 exells in the stutters but the ZX2 handles everything else as well or better then the Zx2. The XTX handles G outs or sudden drops in the trail better then the ZX2. And the transfer is just awesome!

The 144 has so much going for it. Floatation off trail and short track handling on trail. If the trail gets rough it will pound with the best of them. Its a little choppy in the stutters but I found it to be nothing to get excited over. Course I'm a heavy dude and have the clicker set on 2 from full soft. So the shock is stiff. My worry with the SE or the Standard was My bulk! I not easy being a heavy weight and a sledder!

If the Standard can out ride the XTX in the stutters then It rivals the ZX2 and that skid was built for the stutters. I never seen anything on the trail that could stay with it in the small chop. But then again through the Whiteshell this winter the guys I was riding with couldn't stay with me on the stuttered up trails on my XTX. Even the Nytro XTX had a hard time and started to fall back. Course I'll be the first to admit it was beating me up a mite and worse if I got out of the sweet spot. To slow no good, to fast no good! The ZX2 would have given me a more plush ride! I will also add I ride stting down. i don't do stand up!

from my demo ride experience if I was going to buy an apex I would get the standard over se and or xtx, unless you go offtrail then xtx.

I owned an Apex XTX, I ride with friends that own SE's and STD's.

I'm a long track guy, and they always ride better, but XTX is the harsher ride of all of them with its suspension package. The STD is the best ride hands down. I don't care for any of the Fox Floats due to changing ride heights with temp changes and their ability to hold air. Seen a few of the Floats fail and they just don't seem to ride as good no mater what machine their mounted on, seems like seal stiction prevents them from moving as easily.
