this is just some information for the new guys. i was at my dealer yesterday and he gave me a nice 40th aniversary poster with a history on yamaha sleds and also the specs and i noticed something. it shows the fuel capacity to be 35.6 litres for the apex,s. approx. 9 gallons u.s. i went back to the canadian website and sure enough it still shows 38 litres. approx 9 1/2 gallons. when the sleds first came out and people were trying to figure gas mileage it was discovered the tanks would only the 35.6 litres. just so you know there is a white plastic collar that prevents you from filling up to the top of the tank. myself and others took the collar out. if your trailering your sled just don,t fill it to the top. i don,t know if you guys in the u.s. got the same poster. it,s not a big deal but when your riding in below zero temps and low on fuel 
How does the white plastic collar keep you from filling up all the way?? isn't just a splash guard in the top of the tank?? I thought you can still fill up all the way you just have to be slow about it when you get to the top.
