Apex- 2008 - Gas Mileage???? Comments Plz?

Something to think about..
When I had Dooley's on my Apex, I dropped to around 11 - 13, and after switching to Bergstrom's, it went back up to the 16 - 18, but honestly I don't monitor it that closely anymore. If your buddies don't run the same, thats most likely the difference right there!
I do know my Dooley's would fill with ice and snow, and push a huge trench in the ground, which killed the mileage...

Wow, this is quite a difference. I have pilots on my sled and doolys on the wifes. We're with in a couple of tenths of gas after a 100 miles. 15-16 mpg most of the time. less than one mpg difference for dooly vs pilot on our sleds. Both are fully clipped howver.

My '06 Attak (recently sold) consistently got 15mpg (Imperial). Both times I rode in Canada it dropped to 13mpg (Imperial). I attributed it to running 80-100mph all day! The trails were that awsome! As soon as I returned to the U.S., mileage went right back to 15.

Don't forget the dream meter shows more mileage then actual. My GPS with WAAS confirms this all the time.

What I haven't seen mentioned here is the 10% ethonal used as an additive in the fuel in the US now. this robs alot of power out of the gas as well causes the gas to break down faster. This loss of power will effect your mileage. I have had injecter problems because of it. At first I thought I had water in the gas and was adding dry gas, but this was a mistake as all I was doing was adding more alcohol. I now use Startron with each fill up and it has worked well.
