This sled has so much potential,, after taking it apart you can see it was built in modules,, the front end is all steel,, 70 + LBS,, there is so much steel on this sled that can be replaced,,, this chassis is going to be around for awhile

This Sled is supose to be running for the Eckville Grass Drags in October

So is that entire front clip made of steel? If it is you could duplicate it with a combination of cromo and aluminum. If it was made with all aluminum you could expect the new one to be roughly 1/3 the weight. Cromo which would probably be the way to go will save you about 1/2. I'd do the A arms for sure out of cromo. I'm sure given time somebody will be making carbon fibre a arms for these.

If this is the sled that is getting built by Red Deer Power Sports. I would stay as far away from it as possible. I have bought 2 quads , 2 dirt bikes and one sled from them. I have had a few issues on service and warrenty
that they would not cover. When i questioned them on why not i was told that yamaha won't cover it. So i paid to have them fixed and get my equipment back. As time went on i have talked with other people that have had simular problems. So i have contacted other delears and they have said that by what i told them the equipment should have been covered. So whats going on is the dealer ship screwing there customers by putting it through on warrnety and also making me pay. Who Knows.
But i know for shure it will be the last thing that i purchase from there and i will let every one i talk to know about it. Just my 2 cents.

Well buddy i don't what to say. But i bought a new Apex and a kids quad from them last year. I will admit that i had a few problems with the apex with the turbo but in the end result Red Deer power sports met me in the middle and covered some of the stuff. But when you build a new sled like i did and it has'nt been tested or proved you can assume there is going to be issues. They worked with me the best they could. But lets face it they are in the buisness to make money and can't please all of us all the time
