I saw this comment from Hammer: The way I have it setup now it pulls consistent, linear, steady, from Idle to Peak. Like a stock Apex....on steroids !!!
I am looking for this type of setup. Mine is a stage one. It has the Hauck clutch weights they are the adjustable launching weights, a Team clutch with a 60 40 46 and 60 38 46 red and pink spring. I ride 8 to 11k feet (Colorado). I need to get a boost guage and my A/F guage was not working on the 1st and only ride that I have been out on(o2 sensor I suspect). The primary clutch was hanging up so I pulled it and am having it looked at by the dealer.
So, the setup stunk...seems like too much helix, not sure on the spring. The primary was not acting right so it is hard to tell where I am at. Would anyone have some baseline setup that might work for me to tune from. I am not sure if I can start out with these Hauck weights or just move on to yamaha weights but I figured I would ask.
I have ridden Cats for 15 years plus and am looking forward to this sled...should be fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The closest "tuner" to you is Trey at High Altitude Boost in Salida Colorado ( http://www.haboost.com ) ... he has set up superchargers specifically for your conditions and elevations ... I've heard nothing but good things about him.
MPI quotes peak power at 9800rpm with 26/22 pulleys
(DO NOT exceed 10,000 engine rpm with 26/22 pulleys)
26 crank gear + 22 supercharger gear = 10 lbs boost
(9800 x 1.182 x 12.7:1 = 147,111 compressor rpm)
24 crank gear + 24 supercharger gear = 7.5 lbs boost
(9800 x 1:1 = 12.7:1) (124,460 compressor rpm)
22 crank gear + 26 supercharger gear = 5 lbs boost
(9800 x .84 x 12.7:1 = 104,564 compressor rpm)
Altitude -- With the SC you will lose boost/power as you gain altitude so clutch accordingly ... slight over-rev in the flats at 8000ft elevation and slight under-rev at 11000ft at full-engine-load-climbing ... with the wide flat power curve of the boosted 4-Strokes a 500rpm pull down is ok ... 300rpm pull down is better ... under 300 and your golden !!!
If you've read my posts you know I run a Stage-I with nitrous, cold air intake, bypass valves, 22/40 gearing, 26(crank) 24(super) pulleys (11,000 engine rpm), TEAM secondary (56/44 full rate helix and 160/260 black-white spring), P85 primary (66-grams and 100/275 polaris-gold spring) ... 1.5,4,4,4,4,4 fuel contorller setting @ 5,500 to 8,500 feet elevation ... this is good for general information only ... as everyone's setups will be different.
I've posted everything that I've done and everything that I know about the supers here on TY4 (and the videos to show how it performs on the snow) ... tons of information has already been posted here ... search, read, read, read, and learn from what others have already experienced.
Or just pay Trey to set you up correctly ...

Thanks for the info guys... I have already been in touch with Trey via email...he was out of the country when he emailed me back. I am lacking some parts like a Yamaha secondary and Yamaha primary weights 8FA.
Can't weight to get this working right.....it was lacking with the current setup.

You might want to look into these from Ulmer Racing http://www.ulmerracing.com ... he's a member on this site (srxspec) ... I prefer the TEAM secondary with it's encapsulated rollers for mountain riding and boondocking through the trees ... it's backshift is better than any other clutch I've used ... I'm going to give this billet one a try next.I am lacking some parts like a Yamaha secondary and Yamaha primary weights 8FA

Thanks for the info Hammer. I am traveling right now and will be back home mid week. I am looking forward to another try next weekend with a few adjustments. Hopefully I can get this close before we run out of snow and have it ready for next year.
