Well, I have been lurking here long enough, and now I have some questions to ask. I just bought an "03 with MC rear mount, I can't wait to try it this weekend. What general advice can you guys offer, and I also have a few questions,
-How high are can you raise the handlebars without cable problems? I like wider/higher bars and I do not want to order something that won't fit,
- What helix are you guys running, and how much preload?
- I have reverse, and I do not think that gearing will be an issue, but what gearing are people using?
- how are you guys carrying your spare gas?
I will be spending the summer loosing weight, but for now I want to ride it,
thanks for any suggestions you may have,
thomas

I don't have a turbo but can help with a couple things. I only have a 1" riser and that is about as far as I would go w/o a longer throttle cable. You might be able to go to a 2" if you put your bars way forward and take the cable out of the brass "C" looking thing that holds it close to the handlebar. Again, I would not do this.
I have never had to pack gas. Longest ride I went on was about 85-90 miles boondocking. I still had 2-3 bars left on the gas gauge. I have never come close to running out of gas when playing in the deep stuff all day. A good day in the mountains will run about 50-60 miles max and you will never come close to running out of gas on your RX. But if you really need to pack gas do a search, you will find some good ideas a few of the other mtn riders have come up with.
I put on some 45 degree handlebar hooks to widen the handlebars. I really like them and to my surprise it still fits under that tight cover.
I will leave it up to the other turbo guys to give you their recipe on helixs and clutching. I don't want to send you in the wrong direction.
From what I hear you will LOVE the MC Express rear mount turbo. Good luck and have fun.

Same goes for me on the Turbo part. As far as the riser question goes. I have a 2" articulating bar riser from sportech and a 3/4" solid riser from MPI. My bars are factory ordered from Yamaha but are about one inch shorter than the stock ones, and about two inches wider. The bars and 2 3/4 " rise work for me with no problems with the throttle cable binding. Here's some pics of my sled If you want a close up picture of my bar risers installed let me know and I will take one and post it.

Start with 130 jets, drop the needles down one from stock, 44-38 helix, silver spring @ 80 degrees, P/P/P primary spring out of the old style clutch with 3 yamaha shims, 8BU-00 weights put a 4.5gram rivet in each hole, put in 14.5mil rollers, 21-39 gearing, put in a fuel shut off valve in the line between the waste gate controller and the Turbo (This is only to fine tune your boost so that it is 10lbs if it aint already) add snow and hang the on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the advice guys, I rode it today for the first time, and all that I can say is WOW! This thing is unreal, I love the fact that is feels stock, until you push the gas, and then it GOES!

It's a blast isn't it!?!?!?!?!?!
Listen to SnowFever on the clutching. He has a good handle on turbo clutching. You do need to adjust for how much boost you are running though if not around 10.
I run 10lbs. Using the 8bu-00's with 4.5 heel and 2.4 in tip. I will be adding more weight to the tip for next year probably go to 3.1 or 3.6. I have the stock primary spring and helix with a silver secondary. 15mm rollers. My gearing is 40-21 but I could easily go higher.
If you don't already have a 159 go get one.
