New version of Trail Tank?

Definately look into some way to preconnect the fuel level wire before you slide the tank in because the side of the tank wraps around the steering support loop and covers the area where that connection gets made. Half hour struggle for me. I will come up with a solution next summer when I go to change spark plugs during Maintenence.

I installed the tank then took out the battery to reconnect the fuel level sending unit wire.

I intend to buy a set of matching connectors to make an extension so its easy every time.

I could get mine installed with lots of pushing but once I went to put the gas tank cover back on I was still 1 inch short to line up with the holes. Stopped right there and took it off and put the stock tank back on.

The new version is improved from the older versions. The new version has more clearance for the fan. It is a very tight fit and takes some force to get them into place. As srx900 stated taking the battery out gives you access to plug in the fuel sender. The zeus fasteners are hard to get started and turn at first then get easier once you work them a few times. I am happy with the fit of the new tank. I wouldn't be without one. In the past I have been saved twice from running out of gas thanks to the trail tank.
